You're probably confusing TioMAN (Nidhogg's consort/mother of his children) with TiAMAT child of Midgardsmnr; brood-sister of Nidhogg/Bahamut and consort of Bahamut

Speaking of Primal Bahamut, I am pretty sure one of the reason's why he was/is so powerful is due to the fact that he had thousands of years worth of prayers from those captured meracydian dragons + collecting energy from the Sun.

The real Bahamut, while strong, was defeated by the Allagan and it seems as if they defeated him pre-Omega weapon since it was the Primal Bahamut that was said to have been a threat to the Allagan

It really bad to measure a Great Dragon's strength based on Primal Bahamut. They're all strong, but not all-powerful. Just see Midgardsmnr vs a fraction of Garlean millitary; he was able to destroy one Dreadnaught at the cost of his then-adult body.

According to legend, Tioman Island is the resting place of a beautiful dragon princess.[1] Whilst flying to visit her prince in Singapore, this beautiful maiden stopped to seek solace in the crystal-clear waters of the South China Sea. Enraptured by the charms of the place, she decided to discontinue her journey. By taking the form of an island, she pledged to offer shelter and comfort to passing travelers.

The Dreadnaught was actually one of a kind (till recently).
The only reason we aren't under Garlean rule right now is because of him taking that continent conquering ship out.
That was not really a fraction of their force. It was the bulk of a full invasion force.

Since then they have not tried an invasion of that scale because they lost so much people and and their main tool for conquering other places.
It's not till recently had they remade that tool. And that's why it's worrying.

I agree with you, in general, of course.
But it's not like Midgardsormr died doing something minor.
He stopped the Garlean invasion dead in its tracks and crippled their power (relatively) for conquering other lands for quite a while.

I'm actually quite curious as to what thay're doing with Tiamat?

Yeah, she's bound for eternity, but is that all? Is it some sick form of Allagan punishment they've inflicted on her for being the one to summon primal bahamut? I would think that they'd place a mind-control device on her.

It is implied that she can free herself anytime she wants but she doesn't want to because she thinks the prison is her way of atoning for the summoning of his brother as a primal

One question about Tiamat, she says:

Together with my brood-brother Bahamut, I journeyed south to Meracydia. And together, we brought forth innumerable children into the world.

Is there any lore on the 'relations' that dragons have with each other, and what is acceptable?

Who knows if they're truly biological siblings since Midgardsomnr came to Eorzea with 7 eggs which what that truly means, who knows?

But yes, it seems like they mated and subsequently had a lot of children.

It appears to just be zealous restraining - she's not only shackled, but gruesomely pinned to the platform. I don't think it was intended as "punishment" so much as yet another example of late-era Allag possessing very little empathy for the treatment of their captives.

But yes, it's quite implied that even for all that, she could break out of those restraints after five thousand years of their decay (and if not, then Middy or her siblings would assist her with it in a twinkling). It began as restraint, but she herself has taken it as punishment.

I wonder if there is any significance to the similarities of appearance of the dragons that are grouped together in the storyline.

Cause with Hraesvelgr, Ratatoskr and Nidhogg they all seem to have similar features with 4 or more horns that curve forward around the face. Plus their names all come from the same Norse Mythology about Yggdrasil and stuff, and their stories in MSQ is all intertwined.

Whereas Tiamat and two other dragons (one of which is Bahamut) have horns that start at the forehead to curve back. And they kind of have their stories separate from the others. And then you have the unknown Narwhal dragon who is just chillin with his own style.

It is mentioned on the Blue Dragon TT card that dragons have like a thousand year puberty in which they kinda evolve and do their own thing and can end up looking very different from others in their own species. And being that all the 7 are like the oldest dragons there are explains the diversity, but I still find it interesting that those 3 are kind similar
