I'm generally seeing more nins as top in parses but this doesn't necessarily equate to top dps in potential, but it could be. It need more testing.

I love the aggro moves by the way.

As a gamepad user I'm not happy to waste one more precious button for wheeling. I'd rather get some nice jump instead.
Wheeling Thrust does need a adjustment of some kind.
First it needs a new animation. Its just not practical. I could see a martial artist from the feudal Japan era actually doing most of the skills but not wheeling thrust.
More importantly it needs an effect added to it to change the skill from a punishment as the OP states to a welcome dynamic benefit.
Controller user here, havent had a problem with the new skills, there is plenty of time to see the proc appear and realise which side you need to be on

I'm a little sad on how people suddenly think I'm complaining about DPS and how hard it is to use this skill, so, here again, what I'm trying to say....
It might be just a pinprick to a DPS, but it's still a pinprick for a reward. It's like doing a quest and getting rewarded by having to give up 100 exp. It's not a big amount, but it's still not how it should work. The ability should either be given at lvl 56 with it's twin or changed to make the two different so that you are like "oh cool" when you get the ability. As it stands you would actually be better off with it completely removed entirely. It's hardly a problem, which is why I say it'd fit well with lvl 56, but leveling up, doing a quest, and finding out it is just to add a random factor and difficulty to your class is detrimental to way the game works.
I'm saying you don't need to be rewarded by making your class more difficult without making it more useful or having more variety, it goes against the flow of the game.
HERE is how it could work positively as it stands, and yes, this is the fickle thing I'm trying to put out. Give both abilities at lvl 56 with 50 or 100 potency missing from what it has, and give a trait at lvl 58 that gives the potency back. ALL CLASS SKILLS SHOULD BE POSITIVE! NO PUNISHMENT (however small) FOR LEVELING UP

Honestly yes, from that stand point the level 58 quest "reward" is not much of a reward at all lol. Essentially the quest giver is just throwing a wrench into your rotation's bicycle spokes.I'm a little sad on how people suddenly think I'm complaining about DPS and how hard it is to use this skill, so, here again, what I'm trying to say....

Yeah, see, it's not much of one, but it takes out a good deal of fun realizing you never shoulda done that quest.
The reward gives you thus - Another move you HAVE to have on your hotbar (and probably gaming mouse too). No bonus to DPS. A chance to fumble up keys. Reduction to reaction time (you gotta see which move is highlighted, and both look too damn similar. It's not bad to have the random needs of it all, it's just a crummy way to congratulate me for hitting 58. Now, if they added in differences to them, reduced potency to give effects without boosting DPS, then it'd be more fun too.
It's weird, I'll give you that, but it also adds some new level of difficulty to the job, which I like.
A lot of people complain about their new abilities, but DRGs really shouldn't be doing it... They got some really cool additions in the expansion, while I'm sitting here on my MNK doing pretty much exactly what I did in ARR...
Unless they suddenly make some changes, I might even change to DRG.

Difficulty is fine, that is NOT what I'm complaining about, the issue is getting nothing but problems, even if it's not much of one, as a REWARD. I don't hate the random, but it's pointlessly placed in the rewards style. Change the way it is rewarded and it'll be fine, but as of right now, every dragoon (who isn't a masochist) dislikes their lvl 58 "reward". Put it with 56 and it's just a nice 4th combo that diversifies which side you hit, a negative with a positive - balance. But separating them just makes lvl 58 a negative. Who wants a bill for Christmas? It's weird, I'll give you that, but it also adds some new level of difficulty to the job, which I like.
