Not true at all, there are a /lot/ of fights where ranged LB is superior.

AoE should be weaker than a single target. Having them be the same is bad design.

Should have made all DPS limit breaks single target with splash damage. They put all this work into giving each job a special limit break, and most of us will never get to see or use ours. Healers? Melee should have blown it before everything went to hell. Ranged? If you don't have melee maybe... Caster? See ranged. Tank? Don't make me laugh.

I've used healer LB once, seen it used twice. Tanks I've seen blow it to troll, and since the expansion went live, I've seen LOTS of folks blow it on trash trying to jump it before anyone else does because they want to *see* theirs. Can't blame them.
You've never done coil or any truly difficult content, have you? >_>

Though even in easy content, saving the LB for the last hit is just dumb...so I'm not sure where you're getting this opinion.

All the LBs have a place, and I've seen all 4 of them used quite often actually. Wanting them to be the same is ridiculous and would limit their raid design.

What if instead ranged LB's scaled to the amount of enemies they hit? One enemy = melee potency value, two or more enemies = current ranged potency value. That way you'd still use a ranged LB in the limited situations we currently do, but in cases where there is only one enemy, you can use either melee or ranged, giving players a choice. This would also tremendously benefit parties that are formed that have no melee.

But then it would just be plain better with more utility than a melee LB, and melee players would complain.
It's a fickle thing, I think it's perfect how it is now tbh.

Honestly, it's rare you're going to wipe because you used a ranged LB over a melee. It's only 25% weaker, especially if you gauge how dire of a condition the party is in. If the boss is at 5% and everyone is at full health, use a tank LB for all it matters, I did the summoner LB in ravana yesterday just because I wanted to see it and no one cared because the boss died.

As long as the boss dies the only half-valid complaint you're going to get is "Aw but I wanted to do it!"
