How is BLM in new expansion?

Quick side question: I've been taking my time with the side quests and main quests to level up to 60 naturally since static won't need me at full force for another week. Where are all the higher Ilevel weapons dropping or how are they obtained?
I'm currently at level 55 and still rocking the Dreadwyrm Staff.

Dreadwyrm is i135. In dungeon gear you'll be in i145 when you hit 60(then start upgrading to i170-180). I kept my zeta until 57 or 58, then i got a ladybug staff from the main quest

Ok... I just can't find any info on where the higher Ilevel staffs drop or if they are obtained via tokens or whatever. The Hive staff for example.
I assume probably dungeons for the most part.

Law weapons are optained from law (equivalent of poetics) no weekly cap. (upgradable to i180 with hunt seals)
expanse staff is optained from bismarck extreme
Hive staff is optained from Ravana extreme

Anyhow, after sleeping on it, I decided against quitting the job and gonna tough it out.

I switched to SMN even though my BLM was already lvl 57. My SMN is now lvl 54 and I can say that i'm enjoying it much more than my BLM and I feel like my AOE's are better.

I was doing a dungeon earlier and my entire party died on the last boss. The boss had around 5%-10% HP left and I was able to put up all my DOTs and run around with the boss and adds chasing me while spamming Ruin II. I ended up killing the boss due to my DOTs and the fact that I can run around and spam Ruin. Now if I were using my BLM, I probably would of died too because of those cast times and lack of free movement. Situations like this are one of the reasons why I like SMN.

Raids haven't even came out yet and bis gear so hard to say who is on top.
At 56 just getting any gear I can get. I'm like "oh level 56 gear!" Not even looking if its spell speed or what.
At end game when people start getting the right gears and see how raid fights are then let the bitching start. To early right now.

Most of it does not have spell speed.. which I consider another nerf. My SS dropped from 620 to 576 with this new set of garbage.

I'm gonna stick with it, we'll be buffed again and SMN nerfed in no time. The pros outweigh the cons for me tbh. I can't go back to controlling a pet, I just can't that's one thing I do not miss.
