    1 Attack's Worth [Wanderer's Minuet]

    I was looking forward to leveling my bard to use the Wanderer's Minuet. Playing a Bard I know I'm going to be giving up 1 attack's worth of time to use my songs to support my team when they need it. How should that be any different when it comes to giving myself a massive power boost when I can afford to sit in one spot for an extended period of time? In fact I usually do the same with my paladin when switching from shield to sword stances, and removing that 20% damage reduction dealt by you is a huge increase that makes the 1GCD it eats up completely negligible. The best part about this buff I would have loved is that its recast timer was just like a paladin's oaths. I could stance dance anytime I want, very much unlike Warriors and healers. I main as a Warrior and I stance dance quite a bit. Don't mean I like the 10 second wait.

    It reminds me about Armored Core, where you take a knee to use these powerful back mounted cannons, and the pay off was worth it, or it was easily the worst thing you could have done when done at the wrong time. And there are times where you can't do that at all. I was really looking for to doing that type of stuff with BRDs.

    But now in 3.01?
    I'm not looking forward to it. I hate how it's an instant cast and can't be used again for 15secs. That's extremely clunky no matter how well you make it work. Plus one move got nerfed by 12% and the other by almost 30%. Sure Wanderer's Minuet gets an 10% increase, but it doesn't really make up for the nerfs the attacks requiring it got.

    And all this just because loads of BRDs obsessed with keeping a consistent stream of damage they already couldn't even do in most end game boss battles, complaining about this too much, rather than making it work. All over 1 attack.

    I don't think this change is good or needed at all, and I hope it gets changed back to being a song and 2.5 second recast.

    Anyone else feel this change is unwanted?

    Huh?

    240x1.2=288, 220x1.3=286. Nerf of 2/288 potency, or .7%.
    350x1.2=420, 250x1.3=325. Nerf of 95/420 potency, or 22.6%.

    Meanwhile, literally every single other attack you do got boosted by 8.3% while under WM. Considering that BL should be vastly out-contributing both of these damage sources, it more than makes up for the nerfs, I would think.

    Something that annoys me is others forgetting you need to take into account cast times as a reduction in that WM buffed damage increase since you will be firing off a much lower quantity of shots compared to not being in WM. It just kinda bugs me people don't take into account the decrease in quantity of shots and lack of auto-attack when looking at WM buff compared to non-WM. Yes there is an increase under WM but it is less than people are making out on overall DPS in my opinion because they don't take into account cast times and just focus on potency of an individual shot without the reduction in quantity of those shots will be doing during the fight.

    That is one thing that concerns me. If the power increase over the lost of auto attacks is only making up for the lose rather than being beyond that. Since auto attacks for account for a fifth or third of your overall DPS (maybe less and if it is less then this is a good thing). There's the DoTs, the GCD weaponskills, the oGCD weaponskils, Bloodletter depending on your luck and finally the auto attack that's most of the time 2.60~2.80 seconds fast.

    On top of that the window between oGCDs is shorter for casters, so already by using WM you've given up time to use more than 1 oGCD between GCDs.

    It's extremely annoying that those are never the first things you hear about.
