    I think it's been stated numerous times that PC version and Steam version are not compatible.

    Yes.As TurnBased said they made numerous announcements and clearly stated that if you had steam version you HAD TO BUY STEAM VERSION HEAVENSWARD to be able to play.What you did is fundamentaly wrong...and I think you have yourself in an dead end.Unless the developers are willing to make you a favor.
