They did not give us any improvement to the base class, neither Actions nor Traits. They dumped everything on the Jobs even if some of the skills make more sense with its base class. I have gripes with them putting Stone III and Aero III to the WHM, which is not what they traditionally have.

Just an Additional ranting, if they're gonna phase out their useless systems, they should also include throwing out Elemental affinities then? Fire damage is no different from Ice damage; Resistances give miniscule improvements; Materias are not used they are meant to (only for spirit binding so they say).

That way, we're all gonna look the same.
The only remaining difference would be the Jobs themselves, and the gear levels... which will then follow the same path for optimization purposes.
I agree that they should also either phase out the elemental system, or reimplement it with actual meaning. As it stands, just like the class system, it's a left-over from 1.0.
