Still no word on Au Ra Naming Conventions?

... as expected. B-baka, it's not like we're grateful you acted in a completely predictable manner and chastised us for being upset over not having it yet...

Humor aside, I (for one) am most grateful for getting the Au Ra naming conventions. I must needs find a good source for period Mongolian names and decide on a clan, or just screw with the RNG as suggested. Have some ideas, but I need to cement a clan and find a good given name.

First off, congrats on choosing the oh so superior Xaela. Women in Xaela culture seem to be fairly badass from what I can make out from the conventions post. As for a name, it seems like we've been given a lot of freedom in that department, and it doesn't necessarily conform to period specifications like the Raen do. So you can be pretty unique with it should you choose. I went with this generator to poke and prod around and assist in inspiring choosing the right name. I've found the clan choice has been a little more complex.

I was always going to go with the Xaela, because I prefer my characters to be the sort you'd actually see out adventuring instead of coming up with a special snowflake reason for why they're breaking the mold :P

Thanks for the generator though! Got a name picked out that works on multiple levels, and pretty set on a clan. Name change service set, Fantasia already used, so now it's just a matter of time.

... well that and the 2.5 sections of calculus I want to get through before tomorrow so I can fully enjoy the new content, but that's another matter.

True. Certainly the Kha are curious enough. Though I wish the Chinese name Lin was a little more easily compliant. As it was I had to dig deep to discover the Japanese kanji for it can also be pronounced Rin (which is compliant for a Raen), and could arguably be a variant.

Well it's not needed, strictly. Still, if the Domans / Raen are based on Edo-era Japan, people venturing outside of the nation and foreigners would be looked at askance; after all, Japan was rather isolationist during that time period (and to some degree, still is).

Wouldn't be hanged and such for leaving the village, but it would be weird and uncharacteristic of a Raen.
