I have a horrible memory, but, in the original version of Final Fantasy XIV, before A Realm Reborn launched, when you fought a primal like Ifrit, you had a chance of either having the weapon for your class/job drop, or you got tokens you could save up and eventually trade in for the drop you were hoping for. Ifrit, for example, would either drop a fiery weapon, or "Infernals" I believe they were called. [Snip]

Exactly right. Do NOT get rid of your company seals, you're going to need them to rank up in 3.0. I was ONLY talking about the 1.0 items.

If ya didn't play 1.0, you don't have to worry about it. If ya did, this is the time to dig out those cracked materia at least (tokens too if ya want) and use them while you can.

ANYwho, among other items, these tokens survived the transfer to A Realm Reborn/2.0, and a system was put in place to be able to exchange them for tomes. The exchange rate is kinda crap though, so unless you'd amassed a considerable amount, some may feel like they'd rather hang on to them just because they're no longer obtainable in the game.

When I cleaned up my retainers' inventory for 3.0 yesterday, I realized I still had ~300 of the feathers left you once needed to even enter the Garuda fight in the first place xD
Sadly they couldn't be traded in. I have other nostalgia stuff, so I ended up throwing them all away ._.

Come at me, 3.0! My body is ready! Ö.Ö

Ah yeah, I still have some Ifrit entry things left too. I can't bear to throw them away though XD I kept them and a bunch of dated gear that I made myself (when I first logged in in Sept of 2010 I saw a bunch of strong higher level players in pink crafted robes and pointy hats, I swore I'd have those one day but due to pursuing various other things at the time I never got around to them until they were already outdated so I made them myself the week before the Calamity and they'll be mine forever!) and some hamlet turn in items.
