Square-Enix is already doing just that. It won't stop determined AFKers, but it will stop the majority of them. Anyone that determined to stay online that they resort to exploits or tying rubber bands around controllers has some deep rooted issues and needs a psychologist.

In the case of AFK crafting, unless your AFK time is what it takes to quick synth 99 items, you're botting.
And if a GM is alerted to the situation and you don't respond, I suspect you'd get in trouble.

True, but open your retainer and sit there with the menu open. So there is that too. Or go to your inn room and enter a cut scene. Or the market board, or a general NPC ect ect.

I dont think she knows you can auto synth more than a stack of 99 items.

ya.. you always have been able too. If you have an item that takes 1 crystal and 1 mat, you can have 10 stacks of 99 of both, and make the max.
