Maybe you should come to a real server then. Selbina is great, maybe that makes the difference /shrugIs that an actual figure?
This game going from "casual paradise" to "raptor grind" has already scared off two of my IRL friends who simply don't have the patience to run around Corethas for hours on end (although I know there are other methods of SPing currently) - these are the same people who I couldn't get into XI for the exact same reason. This is made worse by the fact that every class needs at least one other class leveled to be worth a damn. You can call my friends on "not being hardcore enough", but the simple fact of the matter is that these days you make casual games in this industry or you make no money. There was room in this game for a fun and dynamic ranking up process with a challenging endgame, and there still is hopefully.
The changes don't bother me personally at all, but I think that if Tanaka's original game had been given a chance to be developed properly, it would have turned out right and been a great game in it's own right. SE's marketing team must have jumped the gun and forgot that Final Fantasy titles usually require a very long development cycle. What we're playing now feels like a beta - the actual "beta" we were playing felt like a friggin' tech demo. It was rushed out WAY too early if you ask me.
speaking of one year ago, does this mean we get anniversary bands?
if they were ever going to do that, it wouldnt be till sept, on the games release. though it would be cool, i dont think we'll see them

Lots of things have changed. Lots of things have come into the game. Lots of this have, and with this upcoming patch soon will, leave this game. However despite the year and all of these things, I still only have one thing left to say.
AJ WANTS MORE STORY NOW!
when you pay my bills you can tell me what to play and when to play it. since i pay my own then nah i think i will play what i feel like playing.
edit: my deal is that i enjoyed the game a whole lot more in december than i do now along with quite a few others. alot of this has to do with the changes that are being put in place. they may wind up working out which is why i am sticking with it, but that doesn't mean that i don't have the right to discuss what i dislike on a set of forums designed to do just that.
the majority of people that i know personally that left said they were leaving til there was more content. they did not say they were leaving because of not having auto attack or swimsuits.

n_n it's STILL freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Why do you still play? Honest question. Is it that you sunk so much time in it, you can't imagine stopping now? You could take a few month break, or maybe until the next patch comes out at the end of September- you'll be rejuvenated and hopefully not let down!my deal is that i enjoyed the game a whole lot more in december than i do now along with quite a few others.
Born Ready.
hmmm i didn't know my power and house bill was free. i need to contact my power company and landlord.
"they may wind up working out which is why i am sticking with it, but that doesn't mean that i don't have the right to discuss what i dislike on a set of forums designed to do just that."
that right there was my reason for staying. i hope they will get it on track. that doesn't mean that i have to be happy with the pace nor the going back to the bare basics for months at a time until they get new stuff in though.
if something is broken, yes, it needs to be fixed, but you don't remove a flat tire and the rim from a car and keep driving it. you get it and remove the bad one when you are ready to put the new one on.
and on your why don't i take a few month break. i'm the type of person that will stick with something until i am completely done with it. i stuck with the game during the old mage mass sp crab parties. i stuck through having a capped class and absolutely nothing to do. just because i do not like the direction of pulling stuff out before the replacement is ready does not mean i'm willing to give up on the game itself.
my only problem is to fix one thing they need to have the actual fix ready. i don't like the we are just removing this for now and something new will be put in later. that's why i am not playing battle at all right now. they removed a flawed system and put in an even more flawed one in its place. we know they are going to continue working on it, but right now it is a downgrade. when something gets replaced it should be by something of equal or greater value. all i told my ls is i am going to wait until probably 1.2 before i start playing battle again because i want to play a complete system not parts.

1 year later and im still bad at the game with no clue how to really play it.
Wait... the game changed since beta? O_O
To be honest, I was more happy with the game a year ago than I am now >_<
I remember thinking 1 year ago, this MMO has been getting bad reviews, but there is NO WAY I could ever find it not fun. I loved FFXI to death, and this one is going to have even better graphics!! Little did I know.. graphics is the ONLY thing it has. Everytime I check in on this forum, I cross my fingers hopeing the devs have made drastic changes only to find that they are making WOW instances for good gear, dumbing things down, and messing up the game more and more.

crystal tools is amazing. SE needs to just sell it to a game creator who actually has some good ideas. It's a waste of a good tool in SE's hands.
