and sorry to hear that OP. have had my fair share of being ninja lotted in situations like that.

the system is broken, but not broken enough to deem fixing worthwhile sadly.

You can't "niinja" drops in FFXIV unless you go in with a full premade party with agreed upon loot rules prior. Everyone who can roll on loot has the right to roll on it if they want to. If you want a jobs drops so badly, you go as the job that can roll need on it. Then even if you lose on need, there is no "ninja looting" involved as it is free loot for whoever can need it or if no one needs, greed it.

It wasnt his, so there is no stealing (stealing? really? reality check there please) involved whatsoever.

You need to ditch the "i did better than everyone else here so i deserve anything that i want" mindset in an MMO. Self entitlement is just fuckin' poisonous anywhere and to anyone especially on the internet. You're in a DF run and honestly nobody really cares if you did healed better than that tom dick or harry. At most, you get a commendation if the group likes your heals so don't expect some loots to be defaulted to you just cause you did great. Plus if you really wanted that item, you should have gone in as that class. So if it was a bard who entered the game at the very last boss fight and rolled Need on that chest piece and won it over you.. are you gonna cry too?

(for the record, a ninja loot is something that you expect to get for reasons, only for it to be snagged from under you regardless. i try to bring my A game regardless of the content, despite never being rewarded for it.)

Not to be mean but if your getting that worked up over losing a roll to someone that queued in progress for WoD, this might not be the game for you. It's just the way the game works, if someone falls on the first landslide on Titan they still get to roll. If someone falls off the boat in Leviathan they still get to roll. Theres no way SE can police every instance of someone not "deserving" to roll.

Honestly it would cause more complexity to say give no rights to anyone who came in mid raid or even at the last boss a chance to roll just cause they did lesser than everyone else. Because nobody in their right mind would even want to opt in to join a raid that is already halfway done if that's the case. Any mid raid quitters would totally kill the entire group of any chance for any loot at any boss they have not killed unless they are confident to beat the fight with less than a full group. So honestly thank them for joining last minute because THAT itself is their contribution for filling the empty spot to even make that fight happen else the OP would not even get to roll on the loot at the end of the fight. Deal with it.

I will have to agree with the OP. The whole group except for the last person getting in deserver that drop. The OP wouldn't mind if any other party member that was from the start got the piece because colaborate to get to the end. I have seen some people that joined in the last don't even join the boss fight. They kind of take their time to get to the boss and someone from the alliances start to attack the boss.

Sadly that is how the game works. I wish SE would do something to correct that.
