Please Allow 50's to Enter Ishgard w/o having completed MSQ

I just commented on this in another thread, but this one is more accurately on topic. I don't think the restriction on completing the story to enter the new areas is permanent, I think its a method to reduce server stress. That said, the restriction on Ishgard will probably always be tied to the story. This city has been looming over us since the very beginning, I'm talking 1.0. Finally being able to see it from the inside is earned. I don't see any real reason players can't access the surrounding areas without going into ishgard(eventually), I'm fine with them blocking out the band wagon hoppers for a little while. I was here when Dalamud fell and crashed the servers because there were just too many people. I was here when the realm was reborn and the 1014 minigame was a daily thing, spent hours in the ENORMOUS mountain slopes of Coerthas looking at that city and wondering what it was like on the inside and I've been waiting four years to see it. You can wait 2 weeks.

Definitely not planned purposely to control server stress but this structure is surely effective in helping the servers for Ishgard to not overload. Gating content has it's pros and cons for sure, but it definitely does more good than bad. Spending time and do the quests, experiencing the story and eventually unlock content gives the player a sense of being rewarded for the effort. It will be an extremely flawed argument if anyone were to say "Hey we paid for the game so everything should be readily available at our call" or "We have the rights to play this game whatever manner we want".

Also, the biggest of my points. You don't (currently) receive equipment from fates.

You kinda do, with the GC points you can buy equipment, so expect there to be equip for 51-60 also with increased ranks.

I don't think the RMT thing is gonna by stopped by this gate. Especially if they make the 2.0-2.55 questlines grant XP and gear appropriate for its tier. The RMT's will just level it out. So instead of Black Mages with ilvls in the high 40s low 50s... Well now have them in the 90s. ><
