When I leveled my PLD to 50 and lacked Bonus, I relied on FATE's. Mind you, I did most my leveling pre-themassive dungoun buff with most jobs so I can't recall if I had that option or not (been a while), but even still, I think that you're overestimating how lucrative the dungouns can be compared to an 8-man fategrind party burning things down. .
I think you are underestimating how life and fates are going to be in 3.0.

As all of the monsters in the new zone are going to be more powerful (as per Yoshi's comments) that a single person can take on 1, maybe 2 (if they try really hard) monster at a time. What happened to that monster when it suddenly spawns 15-20 of them in close quarter.

Now if you are talking about spamming fates in N thanalan, how long to you really expect those fates to be relevant? What if, by chance, that they raise the xp requirement like they did in XI. The new levels increased significantly every few levels. While I don't have a lot of insight into the XP needed for new levels, from experience with their PvP ranks, they could very well do this. I know its not the same, but this is the Final Fantasy franchise which has been known to massively increase needed XP for levels after reaching a certain point (level) in their past games.

You also do not know how anything related to fates are going to change either. SE is being very tight lipped about it. (unless there is some interview out there I missed). My point is, until they actually release 3.0, its all a wait and see game.

Also, the biggest of my points. You don't (currently) receive equipment from fates.
