But strictly from a lore perspective, as I already stated, the main theme of HW, and the enemy we will be fighting are dragons. Creatures with hard armored scales covering their bodies. I cannot see the machinists of Ishgard thinking that going against these creatures with potato guns as the get to victory.
    That's what I meant - casters' auto-attacks.

    And agreed on that one. They'll be shooting to kill, literally. Seems we also get lasers to play with, judging by that video though.
