So I never been kicked before in FF14 .....so I Rp with my character and for one move I use macro to say an attack. The tank gets mad and says i need to turn it off and "saying this isn't naruto." I don't respond im playing the dungeon fine...and then i get kicked. and before I get kicked he says "something party kick no jutsu."

So I report him b/c I think for the most party the ff14 is great and don't want want people like him ruining this community esp. with the exp around the corner. I send him a tell telling that i reported him and that people should play they want to play. Its a fantasy game for godsake.

Thank you for everyone's comments- you are right - I'm not playing alone and everyone plays differently. I have changed it to echo instead of party. Thank you guys

I used to play DCUO and i know how a toxic community can kill a game, makes people not want to play anymore and completely stop new players getting into the game. that's why i reported him, i have never before reported anyone. I just want to stop poison dead in its tracks.

Ok so here's the thing about that.

You shouldn't have told him.

Here why: If a GM contacts him or takes any action against his account, he will know that he was reported and that this was the consequence. If that DOESN'T happen though, then he'll know he was reported and there was no consequence to that action.

I'm sure you can see the implication here. If the guy knows he can be a jerk to random people without fear of consequences, he's only going to get worse. If someone needs to be reported, report them. But don't tell them you did that.

As for my personal opinion, I find non-informative macros to be kind of annoying. It drowns out what might be actual relevant party chat. I wouldn't kick you for it, but you'd probably lose my commendation. If it got really disruptive, I'd ask you to stop.

No offence, but it wasn't smart to report him because he can retaliate now and harrass u further if he discovers he won't get punished badly.

I totally agree. I don't mind macros calling out some important moves like provoke, HG, rez, benediction and such, but when its just a DPS calling out his attacks... It is indeed extremely annoying.

I understand about the RP and everything but you RP'ers need to understand aswell that most ppl would be annoyed by that.

Heres an example.Last week i got a BLM in WoD with an obnoxious macro ( with sound effects and everything ) every time he used a flare. Despite having the whole group asking him nicely to remove it before the next pull he kept going on. We had no other choice than kicking him before the 3rd boss and i have no regrets.

If you want to RP and still "call" your attacks, please for the love of the twelve use /echo, or restrict the use of these macros for when you play with ppl sharing the same RP mindset.

It is a bit annoying when people use macros for rez, eye for eye and virus. I am sorry to tell you this, but you need to pay attention to the icon next to the person name on your pt. I have seen people that already use swifttcast trying to rez others and with macro so the other healer that could instantly rez don't cuz of the previous macro saying you are rez someone.

Give a windon time of 3-4 sec to see if someone else will rez others. For virus, you can see the debuffs on the monster you are attacking. You can see eye for eye icon too. if you are lvl 50 and didn't learn how those buffs look then there is something wrong.

I don't mind rp macros. Some of them are fun to watch. If they are enjoyable it is a plus for me. I don't rp myself or use a single macro. I just play BM (battle mode) style. I don't talk at least they are talking directly to me or in the very beginning.

Those macros are fine with friends who don't mind or whatever, but in a group full of strangers, they're bound to be annoyed by it.

My FC mate does the same thing, and i find it bothersome. (He uses a quote from He-Man with his execute, and he tends to get spammy with the button when he presses it)

When i look at the chat log during a fight i'm looking to see if anyone has said anything of importance, not
