Typical idiot you will see in this game, "go get better gear noob, just not with me in the group" Tells you to get better gear, then bashes you for doing the fights that get you better gear. Can't fix the entitled brats.

It is very hard to tank something when a tank is lower ilevel than the DPS around them, so I understand your frustration. For the fights requirements, yes you were perfectly well geared, it is only HM. I do agree, you should get provoke - Is it asdfghjkl godly, no - but it is another weapon in your favor and honesty does help in situations.
That said - I agree with some others. I main tank as well (when I feel like it lol) and I'm of the mind of 'if you pull it, you tank it'. It is ridiculous for others to run out and pull hate off the bat - knowing they are not the tank - and then complain that the tank can't get hate. Also, the others being whatever ilevel above the tank is not an excuse. I'm i128 DPS and run into tanks below my ilevel all the time. It's about being a good DPS and knowing how to put out damage while managing one's hate. A person who is good at their chosen job will know how to get the damage out without constantly pulling off a lower ilevel tank.
Also the fact that the DPS died before you show's it's not the gear that makes the player. I've seen people decked out and they don't seem to know what they are doing. Gear helps, 100% - but there is also the skill and knowing when to hold back and when to go all out. If said dungeon has a X ilevel requirement and the player is above that ilevel, they have every right to be there - so make it work. That's what I do, and I love helping lower geared people succeed so they can move on to higher dungeons and can get better gear.
I know it's a hard concept, but when players enter a dungeon they are supposed to work as a team - not make things harder on one another. People should work and support one another's weaknesses, balance the party, or it becomes a big wipe fest. The Tank can't live without the healers keeping them alive. The Healers can't live without the tank keeping hate. The mob won't die fast without the damage dealers - etc... everyone needs everyone!
Anyway, sorry that happened - but it seems at times there is a lack of community/helpfulness in this game. Props to those who are kind enough to work with people and not just put them down. No ones perfect, but if we work together we can do anything.

I love how a lot of people are blaming this on "vertical progression"...
This type of problem exists in games with "horizontal progression" too, y'know. Except in that case it's worse: You need specific gear with specific stats, and since you have no hope of actually outgearing it, you need to get all the other gear from other places first, during which people will give you the same attitude because you don't have the set of gear you're trying to get the gear to get.

That is true. I guess the real lesson is people can be egocentric jerks no matter where you go or what you do. You just gotta learn to ride the wave.I love how a lot of people are blaming this on "vertical progression"...

I use provoke all the time OP. But ya it sucks that people don't cut newbies any slack. Also the subject of this thread, made me think it was for real ilv110. I just had a little thought they might increase all the existing gears ilvl(and instances) to be more in line with the upcoming jump to ilvl170.
Tbh I find tanks to be one of the least reaarding classes in this game until you are level 50 and extremely well geared. Before that point they are highly criticized and insulted nonstop.
I am leveling my gladiator right now and I get called a moron, how I am stupid etc etc nonstop because the guy with ilevel120+ queued for fucking santasha or the like. Of course a poorly geared tank can't hold a ninja going wild.
I think a part of the problem is a lot of dps still measure how "good" they are by how hard it is for a tank to hold hate off them, i.e. a sign of how awesome they are and how much damage they are doing
Another benefit of having an in-game parser
We need to remove ilvl sync and add another type of ilvl sync - up to lowest ilvl of a group member. This way low ilvl tanks still can do their job, and if you want to do a fight as fast as possible you can make a group where all members have high ilvl and have fun.

Except then everyone would bail on the party if there's someone below a certain iLevel, since it would sync with them.
While it sounds "fun," it's also tedious and drawn out.

That's why I think the game should have the sync/a better sync for some battle/dungeon instead of just the low level dungeon.
The new players can't learn how to play with all these ilvl 120+ guys on these battles.
I thought early in the game synchronization would be useful, but sadly I was wrong.
