is it a default option? xD or you need to change something in the settings?
System > System Configuration > Controller Settings > Controller Customization
From there you can change the key binds on your controller and set R3/L3 to target assist. Really amazing function.

The truth is, some people operate at different speeds. When I first started tanking, sometimes I'd fumble around between pulls, struggling with target filters, trying to target the right enemy, or what have you. Sometimes I'd be on the wrong hotbar, go to shield lob, and end up face pulling, looking like a fool, because I rushed. If the tank isn't a streamlined work horse, pulling pack after pack, chances are there's a reason for that, and it's probably that they aren't comfortable with what they're doing. A DPS pulling a pack of mobs isn't going to make them more comfortable, in fact, it'll likely do the opposite.

Instead, the group can simply communicate:

"Hey, I'm not familiar with the layout here, can someone lead the way? I'll pull when we get there."

    For the impatient DPS:

"No need to mark, we'll follow your lead" or,
"Leave the marking to me, I can do it quicker"

95% of the time, it's the DPS that are the issue for me.
Healer is in low gear, or is unskilled, and struggles with medium sized pulls, so I back off a bit.
Next thing I see is a dps pulling extra mobs, and the healer desperately tries to continue healing. So I switch to sword oath, /p "You pulled it, you tank it", and the extra group starts running everywhere.
Healer usually ends up with most of the aggro and I get all the blame for not holding it together and a dismissal. SMH
I especially enjoy it when I requeue into the same group and force them to abandon.

Yeah. Because you allowed your healer to die to prove a point and allowed your pride of what many tanks believe to be their "right", instead of tanking and giving the DPS a warning to back off.

The DPS don't listen anyway, openly question my ability to tank and continue pulling themselves regardless. I can almost hear the healer going, "Oh f***, more big pulls."

This is harassment and your parties should be reporting you for this.

So is dismissing a party member for not pulling so fast that the healer is overwhelmed and it's a wipe.

I can also hear the healer going "thanks for putting all the pressure on me, wasting my time, and causing a party wipe" You could have at least taken down a few mobs or have tried to while tanking and then told the dps to back off. If they don't, then kick them. If the healer agrees with you guess what? They're gone. Done deal.

Actually, it isn't, as stated by the GMs. A dismiss can be initiated as a means to resolve any conflict. But if you don't believe me you should file a report and ask them yourself.

I've had some pretty rude parties that have yelled at me for not pulling big... then when i do we wipe.

Anywho, I've requeued into the same party before and honestly just told them to reboot me. All i want is my tomestones.... I really dont wanna deal with people that don't realize when something isnt gonna work.
