str gear, remove defiance/switch to sword oath and adjust the amount of BB/ROH combos if MT dont know how to propely build threat until adds spawn. problem solved.

Though I will note if you decide to queue as tank for the 24 man raid, you'll be one less aggro fighting tank you'll have to see, and that might be better than queueing as DPS and getting murdered by the aggro fighting.

Also, speaking as someone who only queues for CT series as Monk these days: gl with positionals when tanks are fighting for hate.

I always go in on DPS stance... if i pull hate then I guess im gonna tank. Honestly, who the heck cares who tanks towers anymore... It's not like they are difficult.

The raid is now on King Behemoth, and tanks have been silent up to this point. So we're just standing there waiting for someone to pull, and I say "I'll get IG". So whatever, after a few more seconds of waiting a tank pulls KB, and the fight starts. When IG spawns, I voke it and pull it out of the middle.

You shouldn't need to use provoke on an add pull unless a whm is geared much higher than you and has Medica II up and casting Medica/Cure II 10 seconds into the fight.

Also, IG blows up meteors without being pointed at them, and they do a nice AoE damage to anyone standing by them. If he's still alive when KB is doing his meteor, that is 100% dps at fault.

If you voked it out of the middle it was already running around since it spawns near the wall. It was running around loose and is going to kill dps/healers. The tank who picked it up was probably trying to keep it off the squishier party members because you didn't pick it up fast enough. That isn't a tank fighting you for aggro, that is a tank doing his job trying to save the run.

So then you can build a ton of aggro on the Iron Giant and throw it on the ego dude so he can do his job and you can be comfy still downing the Iron Giant.

Do your job comfortably and whip them into doing theirs! (or feed them to the DRK)

The NIN aggro support sounds interesting still :v

Nah, it's not that interesting. It literally sounds exactly like Detaunts in EQ2. No trolling was capable with those, and it eventually got so bad EVERY scout, mage, and healer needed one.

One of my friends in-game was also upset about agro battles. My feeling is that if somebody else is generating high enmity, I will just back off and let them have it. Good to be dynamic and make adjustments.

I usually just play it by ear. I'll check my other tanks at the beginning. If I am geared considerably higher, I'll tank, and do so knowing that, they are not beating me for hate. Otherwise, I'll go offtank mode, and know I can put out some very respectable dps while I'm at it.
