    Weapon decision.

I am currently debating whether I should drop my High Allagan Crook over Ironworks i130 weapon. Is it worth the upgrade and lose 46 spell speed? Because the crook puts me over 600 spell speed with food. I really hate how there is no det/ss on the Ironworks weapon

Edit: I am not even close to Zeta, so that is out of the question.

The WD increase you gain from +15 ilvls is far more significant than the 46 spell speed for now. No point not getting the augmented ironworks if its the only option available to you at the moment.

As a healer you can probably get by with a lower ilvl weapon if the spell speed means so much to you, but weapon damage is significantly more potent than mind and mind is significantly more potent than determination, so all in all a higher ilvl weapon is going to be better, but in this case you will cast slower than perhaps you're used to. Of course, spell speed isn't so powerful that the cast times change drastically.

Yeah, the weapon upgrade is unquestionably the better choice in this case regardless of secondaries.

If you really value spell speed that much, the Dreadwyrm Cane is (unfortunately, IMO) loaded with it.

Just to add to the "yes, get the higher ilvl weapon" train, here's a little math so you can understand why Magic Damage on weapons is extremely important.

MD accounts for slightly under 9 MND/MD (Ariyala BiS calculator puts it at 8.732 MND / MD)

So, going from the Crook to the Augmented Cane +4MD (~35 MND) and +9MND for a total of +44 MND increase. To put that into perspective, upgrading every single piece of Ironworks Gear to Augmented Iron works nets a +32 MND increase.

Generally speaking, there's almost no reason to ever use an a lower ilvl weapon outside of a few extremely niche scenarios (none of which I can think of at the top of my head either).

I just recently upgraded from an i110 weapon to the i130, and considering you'll see a similar ilvl jump from i115, I'll pitch in here too and say grab the magitek cane. Your regen will perform better, AoE healing is just massive, and your DPS spells will all see the same increase. Raising your base stats will give you a new ceiling to reach, even if it doesn't mesh perfectly with your secondary stat build.

I am still stuck at T12, so probably will never see that weapon until 3.0
Gonna go ahead and upgrade to ironworks once I cap my poetics.

Increases the amount you heal for primarily, same with dps when in clerics.
