You're only invincible during the zombie status and not during the actual cd. You still take damage as normal and only lethal hits put you in zombie status which is when you are immune to dying to most attacks. This is assuming the information is correct though and we probably won't know anymore until maybe E3 at the earliest.

Also PIE might not be that important since DRK has a way of gaining it back and during DRK's development they thought of adding PIE but since they share the same equipment as PLD and WAR it would make no sense to add PIE just for DRK. What I'm wondering is how much Dark Arts will consume mp when using weapon skills.

I think they're going to make PIE the one you want to pour into. Yoshi-P himself said that Piety was going to be their primary stat. The same way they made DEX what a NIN needs to increase their damage, they'll probably be counting on you to use Darkside/Dark Arts to do all your damage, and thus your MP reserves will be the lynchpin of your dps.

Its more like HG, but not really better, I think. According to information ( a lot of GOSSIP xD) spread around internet:


- DRK uses Living Dead.
- Buff is there for 15-20 secs. DRK still receive dmg, still can be healed too. Nothing uncommon.
- IF DRK get killed while LD buff is on, LD buff is removed and replaced for The Walking Dead (lets call it TWD, lol).
- While TWD is on, you can't die, because you already dead, but probably you can move, attack and eat your friends.
- If not healed to full HP while TWD is on, you will die (for real this time).
- If healed to full HP, TWD will be turned off, no matter how much time is left in TWD buff.

So, its something between HG and Holm.

im pretty sure i heard in a stream that DRK had like 7k - 8k MP and that the gear might had piety but the person couldnt recall. i do expect them to have a larger MP pool then pally though

EDIT: looking back at the Ravana video the DRK their synched to 54 has just over 3.3 MP

For the life of me I cannot find it, and now I feel like a jackass, but I'm sure it was said. It was one of the panels where he had the woman translating for him. Yes, that is vague, which is why I'm having trouble finding it.

Also here's Living Dead in a nutshell: "A 20 second buff that auto-casts Hallowed Ground IF you die, but does nothing otherwise. Also it kills you if you don't get healed out of the Zombie buff lol, so b carful."

Someone asked yoshi if they should start stacking piety materia and yoshi said perhaps, but this hardly means it will be necessary.

DRK will use str/vit just like the other tanks. No piety, they use their own special mp regen moves to manage mp very much like BLM.

Ehh... No. YoshiP in one of the JP articles said forcing Dark Knights to invest 30 points into Piety would put them at a disadvantage over the tanking/damage capabilities of Warrior and Paladin.

More recent information has surfaced that I didn't know about. He said both, but the piety centric idea was scrapped because he came to his senses.
