No they really don't. You can only see the markings from the front and from the side (hair permitting), if you have a hood, sometimes you can't even see them at all.

Where can you see the horns?

From the front, from the back, from the side, through hoods, and through hats. They're always going to be present and noticeable. They are basically Au Ra's "ears". This thread is basically asking to be able to change Au Ra's "ears", just like Elezen and Lalafels.
