    Welcome to Eorzea Khalithar! Your feedback is well written and not confrontational in tone - we need more feedback threads like that.

    As far as the 2.5 global cooldown is concerned, it's meant to be a balance between fast gameplay and keeping the battle system more in line with traditional FF games which were turn based. FFXIV's battle system, is actually fast compared to FFXI which has a battle system that crawls along at is a snail's pace where you just keep yourself on autoattack trading biffo with the enemy slowly building up TP to let rip with a weapon skill.

    SE already stated their reasons for the global cooldown back in Beta and it's pretty clear this won't be changed. It's easy enough to condition yourself to pause for two seconds when hitting abilities to compensate for the gcd.

    Also if you liked the aesthetician, wait til you get to level 50, complete the initial storyline and meet a certain 'agent of inquiry'.

    True, although ironically 1.0's original (pre-1.21 patch) action-based system with the Stamina Gauge was probably what the original poster would have liked more, although that did have a tendency to drag on too if you were trying to get the Stamina Gauge built up to max. In any event, I went back and changed the wording of that line you quoted as in hindsight, I thought it was a little harsh towards Khalithar. I'm really sorry about that.

    Thanks for the reply! I am a firm believer in leaving constructive feedback, I don't like resorting to personal insults or whining!

    I know the combat in FFXI was slow, but that doesn't make it ok in this game! It's not a dealbreaker for me, I've kind of adapted to it at this point.

    As you get more skills you'll awesome be getting a good couple off GCD ones which can fill inbetween (if it isn't something you need IE one of the Paladin oGCD also acts a silence, though many fights you can just use it right away.) While the starting levels do indeed feel slow things become much better later on IMO.

    I really feel like XI was a lot slower than this game is combat-wise. That is... unless you're a mage, which maybe it's a little faster if you take out the time it took to find a spell in the spell list though macros made that a little easier. Of course I'm talking about what I recall from a while back.. like Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion a while back so there might be stuff I don't recall as well or maybe things were sped up a little since then.

    I don't agree with a bit of what you wrote but I do think RMT management would be nice to have.

    Welcome to the FFXIV community all the same though.
