I'd be a bit confused if that happened. Monk had some of the most interesting things announced for them. Definitely looking forward to seeing how things play out with the new job mechanics on the way.
I'm wondering if the skill used after RB is something like infuriate that instantly builds X amount of Chakra stacks, so there are two ways to build it, one is overtime during skills, the other is from a single skill that gives you max stacks. Same as warrior wrath stacks basically.
I'm pretty sure the second last attack in that ability video, is the 5 stack Chakra attack, and I'm assuming the character was starting from scratch in that video... So either we can build 5 Chakra stacks really quickly(very much doubt that lol), or he uses some ability to either get it straight to max, or increase it by some stacks. That ability used after RB could very well be something like that.I'm wondering if the skill used after RB is something like infuriate that instantly builds X amount of Chakra stacks, so there are two ways to build it, one is overtime during skills, the other is from a single skill that gives you max stacks. Started playing my pugist/monk again and am having a ball, forgot how fun it was. just lvl 20 but the story is great, and combat is never a yawnfest. thanks for the guide/info.
Drive it like u stole it
For those wondering:
So yes, Chakra Attack and Greased Lightning Attack are different, by the sounds of it.I was also really impressed with the new abilities that were given to Monks. They’ve now been given a way to consume Greased Lighting stacks with Tornado Kick, which hits very hard. Casting Chakra will add a stacking chakra buff to your character, giving you something to do during downtime. Once at five stacks, the chakra can be spent either on a powerful attack, or an ability to restore TP. There’s also an ability called Elixir Drive, where your character will back-flip, and while in mid-air, perform a satisfying kamehameha-like AoE beam towards the ground. It’s awesome. Monks can now spend a global cooldown to skip a form, which can help them upkeep combos between transitions.

The new additions to monk are getting more interesting with each new piece of info. Can't wait to actually see it in action.
That was some clarifying info, nice!
That new AoE ability sounds interesting tooAnd finally some more concrete info on the ability that changes stances. I didn't really know what to expect from it, but it being an GCD that just skips to the next form, sounds good... Can certainly help with those annoying 0.1 sec too late attacks.
EDIT: This info kinda confirms that you won't be able to just regain 3 stacks of GL with a new ability btw... Unless there is another ability that still haven't been mentioned.
Cycling through the stances will make it easier to keep the GL stacks, unless you stop attacking right before using last attack in combo, because switching stance would just bring you back to the first stance in combo, and you wouldn't gain anything. You would also be able to instantly use Demo/Snap after a long downtime, which at least makes it faster to regain GL3, and you can get the DK debuff after only 2 attacks.
EDIT 2: TP ability will give you 200 TP (at least in the version at the event)

Hue hue we get a kamehameha. I'm assuming the chakra atk was that uppercut in the job skill vid that came after Tornado Kick.
That cycling through stances on GCD though...that's gold right there. Can put up DK and Twin Snakes right away in GL3 after a transition. Very nice >:3
Maybe I'm just not understanding you right, but you can't keep GL3 if you can't hit an enemy for a while. Cycling through stances won't give you GL stacks. You can instantly get the first GL stack by cycling to last stance and using Demo/Snap once the boss comes back, which is nice too, but can't get back all 3 stacks at once. Because of that, you can use get the debuff from DK right after using that Demo/Snap, and maybe that's what you meant?Hue hue we get a kamehameha. Heres some more info from one of the journalist. I asked him a few questions to clarify.

From the sounds of things. The new abilites help manage the TP situation allowing for Skill Speed builds, and allowing us to not have such a horrible start up time after transitions. Other than that I don't really like our new skills. In fact I am extremely against a lot of what we get, I would take a buffed Invigorate and a skill that grants GL or increments our GL count by 1 any day over what we are given. But of course this is with the limited information I have obtained so I will definitely be going into EA with an open and optimistic mind. Having to raid on 3.0 For the next few months though has me worried compared to how much I've fallen in love with the new SMN and BLM skills, and even Astro.
