Summon power or summon egi, it is still summon. Or it is supposed 2 be pet always that what you summon?

People on these forums want our SMN to be like 100% of our power or else it isnt playing a SMN aparently. They also seem to think the whole DoTs and Pet thing is a reskinned Warlock when things like Necromancers existed in games before WoW came out.
Or, you know, some people could just want a little more utility than pet auto-attacks, like I mention in pretty much any summoner discussion I join. As I've said before in previous threads. DoTs are fine, I have no qualms with them. I like them. But the Egi are uninspired in terms of what they bring to the table.
Are people really satisfied with just using which ever Egi they think edges out the other two for DPS, and to hell with variety or interesting gameplay? No one finds it strange that the developers originally said "well, we didn't want to make the pet class complicated," and then we get new classes like Ninja and Dark Knight which he explicitly said on the stream are complicated classes?
I would LOVE to change things up by having a meaningful reason to juggle between Garuda and Ifrit inbetween my DoTs, but nope. Too complicated.

You should have plenty of things to do between your DoTs anyways. I really dont understand why people think that SMN isnt a complicated job. Sure you can just throw up DoTs, fester and set the pet on autoattack but you arent playing the class to its full potential. Every class is easy if you look at things in a vacuum.
If they fix pathing, and pet responsiveness im fine with them doing 'more'. What is your version of MORE by the way? Is it adding more useless utility that wont be used because other classes do it better? Will it affect the MAIN reason people bring a DPS class to a raid? (Read: Doing DPS).
We have already been at times screwed over DPS wise because we have a Rez, id rather not add in more not very useful utility for people to point fingers at and go "SEE SMN HAS SO MUCH UTILITY!!!111!!1".

I use Titan when solo. Also, if the tank dies for any reason in dungueons i use Swiftcast to bring him into battle for the time he is needed. I use Ifrit more often generaly speaking, i love him more than Garuda. If i have to keep moving instead of casting (like Steps of Faith) i use Garuda to extend my Dot.
I dont know about the others, but i use all the Egis when i feel i need them. Also a quick note: They may not be our strongets dps mechanic, but if they die you will notice it. They need few adjustments, i agree very much on that.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZf7vBdsVu0I was listening to the Japanese, not the low-quality interpreter (not that it's her fault, she's obviously not familiar with the game) and I heard no such thing. They said they would let us change how they look (some time off in the future), but there was no mention of more Egi abilities. If you can pull a quote from the Japanese and not the English, I'll believe it when I see it.
Here, in the 04:20 i think, around that time in the video they said about work more on the Egis than adding new ones. I only understand the english voice, so i dont know if he actually said it or no. If not... well, thats a pretty screwed up traduction.

Sunako beat me to it, but yes, the interpreter's interpretation was slightly off.You can read everything from here.

これは、長い目で見たときにペットを増やすより
本体のアクションを充実させたほうが活躍できると考えたためです。Oh look, someone copy-pasting across different threads with the same somewhat condescending attitude.Looking at the long-term, instead of adding more pets, we felt it better to give more use to the job by adding actions to summoner.
This is what I would like to think many people, including myself, wanted, but we're NOT getting this sort of change.

I look at your profile and see you have Arcanist 50 and 2 other classes 35..... What have you done in this game to warrant the complaints you have about abilities and things that have been added to Smn.... seriously.
Have you cleared any of the content that these changes seem to benefit Summoners in ? Have you done anything before it's nerfed/echoed into the ground to make the average player slightly capable to beat it ?
Very serious questions....... It seems most people that are complaining are those that play this for the casual content and that is fine.
The people that actually take their Summoners to the very limit of what they are capable of appear to be very happy with what was presented.

In his defense i have only ACN, PUG and LNC to 50 and i raid in the top raiding FC on my server. So levels dont matter in regards to clearing content.I look at your profile and see you have Arcanist 50 and 2 other classes 35.....
