There is a clear and broad amount of people that don't want it and I see the same people posting over and over trying to convince others that it's ok

I've been watching this thread and that's what it looks like to me too.

I personally hope they don't add them...it would "cheapen" the game, for the lack of a better word. For me. Of course I wouldn't leave or flip out if they were added. lol

To me, it looks more like typical forum complaining about every little thing ever that gets brought up, no matter if it has official developer backing to it or not. I'm serious, it doesn't matter what the subject is anymore these days. People WILL complain about it.

That said, I haven't delivered my own thoughts on this subject yet.

Wings eh? I wouldn't mind wings as an additional "flying mount". While we're at it, how about auras that allow us to fly DBZ style? But a full system of flying that allows for air combat and what not? ... eh... lets not get crazy here. Flying itself is only just being introduced to FFXIV right now. Lets take things one step at a time shall we? Maybe a WAAAYYY future update will eventually allow it, but for now, I'm content on the fact that we'll just be able to fly in general. (I want that dragon mount so bad. @-@)

That said, I don't care that much if wings are added as additional flying means or not. Either way, we get to fly come Heavensward~

You mean people will share their opinion - which is what these forums are for.

I just don't think "complaining" (or disagreeing with a suggestion, in this setting) should be discouraged, because debates can be healthy. The devs can read them, and it may or may not help them decide. In my last post, I just wanted to share that I saw a lot more people against than for the wings, so far.

I suppose that's one way of looking at it, lol. There's a difference between healthy debates and pointless bickering after all. Still though, the way SOME debates and arguments go though... Makes me cringe... or bring popcorn.

I'm sorry, but I've seen one too many supposed "healthy arguments" end with people insulting each other left and right. So my view on forum debates in general is rather tainted.

Honestly I don't mind if people state they don't like the idea. It's totally up to you what you like. What I don't agree with is making lame generalizations about other games while you are stating it. Is that really necessary? I don't think it is. Now YOUR argument that it would cheapen the game for you is valid, I don't agree with that outlook but it's still your opinion. You didn't go and diminish another game while saying it.

Also Tiggy, pot calling the kettle black as far as I can see.
