I honestly have been craving wings since the xpac was announced and I got to make a dragon character in EQ2



Problems are the race is kind of ugly as EQ2 is getting old. And I'd rather play FFXIV lol. And I would rather have feather wings like Maleficent above. To note in this EQ2 xpansion they did also have steampunk man made wings and feathered wings for ALL characters to equip.

Which I thought was pretty cool. Now there's a lot of people in that game who share the opinion of some of you here, they don't like the wings, so instead they use mounts. Nobody forces you to do anything. Win-win.

I seen my friend play this ( offensively popular ) F2P browser mmo, and in that game literally everyone has wings. And the style of the wings were really over the top, such as bright fire & ice wings in which colors puts strain on your eyes when you look at it.

Now think about that the next time you go to an S rank hunt.

And now let me clarify for you. Nowhere in my original post did i say they made NO sense. (please read it.) I said that airships and flying creatures make MORE sense than wings. See what I did there? More =/= No. Please try to keep up. Sometimes adding stuff to a game doesn't make it better. Just makes it more wowesque which is what some of the WoWfans are trying to make XIV into. By adding these features (in my case of this post, wings) which are not part of the FF series history (please check it) diminishes what makes this FF and that is why I say (in my opinion) that SE won't do wings.

They may not be frequent but they're there. And it's not like the OP is asking for wings to be permanently protruding from their back. Only a temporary thing. I don't see what's wrong with asking for more variety of flight options. Especially options you don't have to use. Also, there's absolutely no need to get snarky.

LOL we could always ask SE to add the Aegyl race! (An entire Final Fantasy race with wings :O ) Then there'd be wings everywhere...all the time

The restrictions they put on flight in Aion were incredibly dumb and the horrible netcode made it so that flying melee characters literally could not attack other players who were also flying.

They haven't implemented Aincrad yet anyways, so they should do that before they move on to Alfheim Online.
