Yeah, I'm really hoping this will make ZAM step up and fix their database asap. It surprised me when I saw Reinhart link it and it turned out it was from ZAM. I'm still hoping that SE would just make their own.tbh they probably just used ZAM because it's the only one you can item link with that has the same appearance as the UI in-game. They took it out of cosmetic preference without doing research first. However, I bet ZAM is going to get their asses in gear now that their database is on here. It's embarassing for them too, not just for SE.
note to SE: this is why you release update notes in advance, because community generally will steer you in the right direction if something is obviously not right. It's better to have feedback in advance so you don't waste time trying to fix a mistake after the fact.

Since I don't give a sh*t, or rather, I couldn't give a f*ck about ZAM, I couldn't care less. I just follow the right database of YellowGremlin.

Totally agree with OP and most posters here, SE should have gone for Yellow Gremlin's database instead. (or FFXIVpro)
Its used alot more by players and updates seems to be on a regular basis.

I used to be Noomy...then i took shiva's Hail Storm to my knee...

Well make update it or else change to those site suggested above..
I've pretty much never looked back once I started using YG, XIVPro, and (on occasion) E-pedia. Ultimately, if you don't think a site is up to par, use a better site for now IMO. They'll improve their own site if they want people to continue using its database (or else be crushed by the Star-Spangled Capitalist Hammer of Sean Hannity).
That being said, it would be kind of nice if SE expanded the Lodestone to accommodate an "armory" system of known players, items, and Linkshells within the game (at least as a starting point for new players if anything).

Short Version:
YG & Pro wanted money to offer official forum support. ZAM did not. SE is just trying to cut corners where they can since no one is paying for their game atm.

Yellow Gremlin lists stuff that is not in game, its not a moderated Database, Apparently just like Zam.
All they do is DAT Mine and load what ever they find into their DB most of it without ever getting edited.
Eorzeapedia really does have the best database for items. Especially with all the work Gahoo, Calandra and Anonamoose have been doing.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

1. Make your own database
2. Center the forums
3. Unlock these following features: Custom Avatar, Profile Page, Visitor Messages, [IMG], [VIDEO], Poll Create (I have no idea why they disabled it, They're common vBulletin features)
