Why did SE have to go and butcher the forum banner at the top? It looked better before the change.

FFXIV: ARR item database, ability lists, maps, guides, dungeon loot lists and more. - http://www.ffxivinfo.com

The YG database is FAR superior to crappy azz ZAM

Or here is a thought, have SE make their own tooltip links, ones that will match the in-game hyperlinking when its implemented. Also allows others to link from outside on other web pages back to the main site. It would have to always be up to date, since its coming from the source itself.
Whats with SE using 3rd party resources? [Removed by Moderator according to the FINAL FANTASY XIV FORUM Guidelines.]

Probably because it costs them less money to use resources from a 3rd party, if SE did it they would need a database with all the items in which would be stored on a server and they would have to create the links, all they need to do is make a deal that would be cheaper than the running costs for the server, and personnel to keep it upto date.Or here is a thought, have SE make their own tooltip links, ones that will match the in-game hyperlinking when its implemented. Okay, this may sound stupid..but do I see different linked items than you do? I looked at everything posted on the first page, and not even ONE of the "errors" people were complaining about were actually there!
Like..one person said about some food "unknown +3, very inviting" but it actually was shown which stats get a boost, no unknown anywhere.
Or a complaint about a conjurer's weapon being for every class according to ZAM? Well no, according to ZAM, it's Conjurer-only.
Either people can't read, or those errors were there once, but got updated.
If they got updated so fast, I guess the devs are providing them with information (because they can't do all the testing in such a short time), which makes ZAM the most accurate database, obviously.
So stop complaining already -_-''

I'm guessing that when they looked, the items were still broken from the last update. Things should be mostly resolved by now, and I'm actually creating a thread on Zam to get some ideas from the users about how to make sure our information is as up to date as possible.Okay, this may sound stupid..but do I see different linked items than you do? @VydarrTyr:
Thanks for the encouragement! It's down to just a few of us working on the database now so we're a tad busy, but I'm trying to be a little more proactive with getting things updated now.

Now THAT's really making me wonder why ZAM is used instead of YG..
Not having enough manpower is really a problem.
Don't get me wrong, I always liked ZAM better than YG because it's easier to use and has more information I'm searching for, but..
Well, one thing that could be helpful would be to do it like wikipedia - allow everyone to help.
I had some useful information more than once, but I didn't really want to go through registration for ZAM, so I just dropped it and thought something along the lines of "Oh well, someday someone else will figure it out.."
Also, for letting them use your database, can't you request of the devs to give you information that may still be missing?

I wouldn't worry, we're on top of it. The hiccup from earlier today was merely because of the update. If you do happen to register and comment on items that are wrong, we are monitoring those comments and updating accordingly. Now THAT's really making me wonder why ZAM is used instead of YG..

About the "where do I get an item from" part..you do realize that Gridania became "Maelstrom Command" with one of the latest updates?
Gridania quests and NPCs suddenly are shown as being in Maelstrom Command, so it also says items sold by those NPCs are sold there (which would be in Limsa Lominsa) instead of Gridania.
Or is this just some bug only I am getting?![]()
Yeah I thought it might just be me, but all those items are properly represented... not seeing any issues here. I am surprised they used ZAM.
