We managed to deal with that just fine in a single player Final Fantasy gameMy point being... that when most people are traversing the open world, they want to get from Point A to Point B as quickly as possible. Heavy, dangerous mobs, slow, rain, mud, slop, fatigue, whatever. Very few players would welcome something causing a delay. Can you imagine how dead the Sylphlands would be if there were actually things in there that could kill you? No one would go out there (which would be a shame because it's one of the most gorgeous and intriguing maps IMO). And imagine how frustrated harvesters would be if designers actually attempted to bait them out there with promises of goodies?
At this rate, SE may as well just make FFXIV an interactive movie (more so than XIII), since there's hardly any fighting in between and maybe one boss fight.

Or you can simply take the more popular direction many of the "more challenge" oriented players seem to be taking now, and lumping nerfs in as a problem sharing the blame for the reason so many RMT plague the game.
It's all an "NA" issue.
So tired of hearing this crap, if NA players were stabbing constantly at other geographics, those players would be crying kicking and screaming to have them sanctioned/banned from the forums.
Amazing how so many "talented/challenge professional" oriented players/forum posters go down the path of "easy" least resistance BS.

Actually, NA players are the biggest white knights of the other players on the forums. As someone who has been banned for talking (not even criticizing, just making an observation people didn't like) about JP players, I can promise you it is not the JP players who report you for it.
(Meanwhile another poster made a remark about ALL NA players being selfish, spoiled entitled assholes that remained until the beta forums were closed and was never once even criticized by other posters for it.)

Except im not one of them, and I don't see any link to or any personal documented statistics to point any fingers at white knights of any demographic.Actually, NA players are the biggest white knights of the other players on the forums. Lets see, one guy wants to join my FC who is good at the game but has bad character, the other is the other way around, I will take player two any day.
I couldn't care less "where" selfish, spoiled, entitled a**holes "come" from, I don't want them in our FC, nor do I wish to play a game with them at all.
My point is this demographic finger pointing BS accomplishes nothing.
It makes no difference "who" is doing it, calling themselves "good" players and stooping to such "bad" levels, simply defines them for what they actually are, self-contradictions in the flesh.
Whats your point again.?

That you're arguing for the sake of arguing appearantly...
You talked about how other groups would throw a fit if NA players were saying things about them, then you argue that generalizing is a bad thing?
What's your point again? If it doesn't matter who's doing it then why get so defensive for NA players? Knee jerk defensiveness is exactly what I was pointing out in my post. NA players' first instinct is to get offended, even if it's for other people who are themselves not the slightest bit offended to begin with.

That's what I thought, point absent, dismissed. That you're arguing for the sake of arguing appearantly...

ITT everyone seems to think completing any form of 8 man content is a valuation of your skill, when it is not.
The best player in the game right could still be wiping on steps of faith or beating his head against a brick twintania because he is on one piece of an 8 piece puzzle and his skill level cannot make up for others incompetence, this is why nerfs happen; eventually people need help with the terrible groups they have the bad luck of always getting.
And if the content is no longer relevant and just becomes a stepping stone for the current stuff why does it matter; I could have shiva ex on farm, that is no indication that I could turn around and beat titan ex, what content I have previously done is no indication of my skill level for any particular fight.
I hear both sides to the argument and I can understand nerfing content for more casual players but I will say I am semi hardcore but my playtime is very limited (can only turn on the game every third week) yet nothing was ever out of reach besides statics for coil. The only piece of content I ever experienced for the first time after a nerf was the demon wall but experienced news content with pugs that never seem too difficult. If SE decides to drop the difficulty they can accomplish this with small changes but the changes of faith make it a complete joke now. I passed it with my 2nd pug group cause people actually stopped and planned roles but too many people now a days suffer from the idea to skip mechanics even in WoD.
I don't get why people still complain about nerfs every single time it happens. Everyone knows content will be nerfed, whether due to age or Square wanting to retune current content, so why stay in a game that you know that won't ever meet your needs?
