    Unfortunately, most of the Woolsey-isms were incorrect translations, e.g.

    Masamune and Amanomarakumo/Heaven's Cloud -> Aura/Skyrender
    Longinus/Holy Lance -> Pearl Lance
    Tina -> Terra

    You know he wasn't "translating" more than "trying to give a Nintendo-approved localization while keeping the feeling of the original text" right?
    That's why the are "incorrect"
    Remember, translation =/= localization

    Personally I'm all for Woolsey-isms; I love him (and FFVI).

    Yeah, all the "Pearl" translations were purposeful censoring of the word "Holy" in order to comply with Nintendo's rules at the time.
    Woolsey did have some translation errors in some of the games he did, but for the most part he did a great job within the constraints he had. I say this as a former professional translator myself.
