    Yeah, they're doing quite well.

Besides, I'm gonna need to see a credible source(that's more complex than a graph of the number of WoW subscribers) that displays that Activision Blizzard is in some sort of financial hardship. You are not a credible source. Everything you said seems incredibly subjective.

Sadly, nerfs are inevitable with the game model that SE have chosen. The entire treadmill is one of planned obsolesce, and until SE can break that cycle we'll continue to see older content nerfed heavily and made irrelevant. The sad part is that this is not something that can be maintained, and if SE don't find a way off that treadmill they could ultimately make the entire game obsolete.

I literally linked a news report from 6 days ago stating they lost 3 million people in 3 months. If they weren't taking a financial hit, they wouldn't also be raising the subscription rate in certain regions. Also Google "WoW Subscription Rate" and you get pretty much the same numbers since Blizzard does release their subscription rates quarterly.

Seems MMO Champion made a nice graph up to WoD: http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/...on-Subscribers

So if you ask me, I think Blizzard is doing quite alright even though their MMO lost 3 million subs in 3 months.

    Here's another link. http://variety.com/2015/digital/news...ty-1201488909/

Anyways, nothing in that article you linked provided an explanation for the increased subscription price. Their strategy of increasing subscription price because of them taking a financial hit was entirely your own conclusion.

What the hell does that have to do with how well WORLD OF WARCRAFT is doing? You are going off a tangent. How well Activision-Blizzard's other games sell has nothing to do with WoW's design and it's effect on subscriptions. It's like if you all of a sudden started talking about FFXV when we are talking about the MMO we play here: FFXIV.

To reiterate, your original point was "extreme catering to casuals" did WoW well, when in fact THAT IS NOT THE CASE.

There's a difference between 'taking a hit' and being in any kind of financial danger. Lest you forget, 7 million people still play WoW which is more than FFXIV and FFXI combined. In fact, if you just compare ARR, we're sitting at a measly 500k subscribers total, which is barely even scraping WoW's knee.

What I found most amusing is that there's apparently a 'pay per minute' version of FFXIV in China. So I guess all those banned gilselling accounts aren't worth as much to Square-Enix as everyone believes.

It was you who decided to bring up Blizzard, as a company, taking a hit. If you ask me, I'm only responding to just that:

I suggest people take a look at the history of Wildstar before complaining about nerfs. Unfortunately your hard dungeon don't pay as well as well as easier ones. Casual players run the market whether you like to believe it or not. It's not hard to look at the numbers to see who completed SoF and who didn't and adjust accordongly.

People forget this is a business that was in danger of going bankrupt before the release of ARR. I don't blame them for being careful.

And the last couple most popular RPGs are Dark Souls 2 and Bloodborne. What's the point? I'm pretty sure no1 cares how much money SE makes. They want the future content to not be boring as cow dung!!! You don't have to look far to see how ppl crying effects the game. Just look at the relic quest. The zodiac and zeta steps combined weren't as hard as the nexus step. And the next relic (if they don't give it to zeta people for free) will prob be even easier to get.

It is funny you refer to Steps of Faith as "older content" ^^

Be serious guy´s, get your Copy of any Single Player Game ever, say DMC... you fight 20+ Hours mastering each and every button, Head up to the Last Bossfight, and that guy falls apart with a combo counter not even reached a 10 Hits....
