I've had the pleasure of experiencing three of them in a row earlier because of the, "Shut up I do what I want". This trial in particular was designed with communication in mind which makes it fresh and different from the other trials. By no means is it difficult; it's the players who are making it difficult.

I'm speaking to the larger issue of nerf-hating here. Steps of Faith is a crutch issue that puts the larger argument to a very pontient head.

There were plenty of issues where someone attempted to follow the mechanics correctly, but encountered difficulty with either DPS checks, damage management, and other things interfering with the Co-ordination. Turn 5 and Titan Ex became progressively easier and less of a bottle neck once damage performances began to out-scale mechanical issues. Steps of Faith was tuned too high comparatively when it comes to Story Content. It's an ilvl100 fight with a difficulty that made it hard for parties with an average ilvl of under 120 to achieve, even when you followed the mechanics.

But SE stands behind the mechanics, so they're easing the DPS, Healing, and Tanking checks in hopes fewer will flat out abandon Steps of Faith on Roulette or avoid Trial Roulettes all together. If players don't, expect more adjustments to happen, and quickly. This fight gates the entirety of Heavesnward minus the new race. If SE can't get the vast majority of its playerbase to complete it, it stands to suffer a massive hit to their bottom line.
