Thornmarch trial battle theme. It's very similar to "This is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Christmas. It has the same style and cadence, but with it's own twist.

The first time I heard this song I would've sworn on my grave it was written by Danny Elfman if not knowing beforehand that it wasn't...

The moogle theme may not have originally been taken from Nightmare Before Christmas, but the lyric additions made for the XIV version definitely have the vibe.
Someone, probably Soken or Uematsu, was at least inspired and realized they could totally get away with the sneaky homage and not get sued. Maybe.

I like how they added Biggs and Wedge from Star Wars into FFXIV. For those who don't know, Disney acquired Lucasfilm a few years ago making Biggs and Wedge applicable to this thread.

Also the only characters to have a Triple Triad card in two different games with the same name that refers to two completely different characters (the primals/summons technically fall in the same category but their personalities are mostly non-existent in VIII, while the respective Biggs&Wedge duos are completely fleshed out.)

The movie Frozen and patch 2.4 Dreams of Ice. Coincidence? I dont think so >_<

Frozen was released almost an entire year before the Dreams of Ice patch, though...

I thought the "Let it Go" thing was cute, but sometimes the snowman is just a snowman.

I like how they added Biggs and Wedge from Star Wars into FFXIV. For those who don't know, Disney acquired Lucasfilm a few years ago making Biggs and Wedge applicable to this thread.

The acquisition doesn't make long-running NPC's from other FF's suddenly relevant to this thread... o.O

Actually it only came out in Japan about half a year before Dreams of Ice hit. It was still relevant when I left the country in August. Kids were singing the song and it was playing on the radio.

Pretty much this. It's the same theme in 1.23 thornmarch so probably Uematsu.

I remember it being at like the apex of it's popularity right as the patch came out. And also the hype leading up to Dreams of Ice. SE was real clever with that. I have to say it was probably my favorite of A Realm Reborn.

They were in 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 10-2, 12, 13, and 14. They've been around for awhile. :P
