The first time I heard this song I would've sworn on my grave it was written by Danny Elfman if not knowing beforehand that it wasn't...

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME

The moogle theme may not have originally been taken from Nightmare Before Christmas, but the lyric additions made for the XIV version definitely have the vibe.
Someone, probably Soken or Uematsu, was at least inspired and realized they could totally get away with the sneaky homage and not get sued. Maybe.

Pretty much this. It's the same theme in 1.23 thornmarch so probably Uematsu. The moogle theme may not have originally been taken from Nightmare Before Christmas, but the lyric additions made for the XIV version definitely have the vibe.

I remember it being at like the apex of it's popularity right as the patch came out. And also the hype leading up to Dreams of Ice. SE was real clever with that. I have to say it was probably my favorite of A Realm Reborn.

According to the Before Meteor and FFXIV ARR OST album booklets, Good King Moggle Mog the XIIth's arrangement was done by Masayoshi Soken (with lyrics written by Michael Christopher Koji Fox, ala everyone's favourite ahriman loremaster Fernewahles), but the original Moogle Theme which it's an arrangement of is of course Uematsu's original composition. And as has already been said, Uematsu first composed the Moogle Theme in 1992 (as Critter Tripper Fritter! on the FFV OST). This silly petty arguement that Soken or Uemtasu have somehow 'ripped off' Danny Elfman just doesn't hold weight I'm afraid, none the less because if they had, SE would never have allowed such a track to be used in the game's soundtrack in the first place.
This was demonstrated back in the late 90s with FFVIII's development where the track that Uematsu originally composed for the Dollet field exam was declared to be 'too similar' to the main theme for the Michael Bay action film The Rock before the game's development was completed, and thus Uematsu was made to completely replace it with a completely different track (The Landing). Hence, on this fact alone, I just don't believe that SE would risk a lawsuit over similarities in a music track if it really was a blatant copy, especially given SE were throwing everything they could behind FFXIV's reboot. But I digress...

You were seeing things.
There are no Disney references.
You can change thread now.

See no remembrance what so ever to Olaf.

Maleficent Adjective of the noun Malefic, which means to destroy or harm via supernatural means.
so no reference there.
the hidden mickys is just a asemerical design thats like saying all triangles are illuminati
the hidden snowman is because guess what SNOW, its just there for eagle eye'd adventurers..
just because it is in the game does not mean it is a reference, it can just be a fun easter egg for people.
also 'let it go' was a reference to shiva/ frozen, but IIRC the original achievement name when it was first 'leaked' was 'this gave me the shivas' (a pun on shivers)
Sometimes you just got to have Some fun
Gasp, in Winter, my neighborhood is full of Olaf references! Are all these kids part of a secret Disney-worshipping cult? Why do kids create these effigies all over the world whenever they come across some snow? Has Disney brainwashed them so?

"This is Halloween" may have come after the moogle theme was first composed - but the original moogle theme didn't sound much like "This is Haloween". The variation on the moogle theme used for "Good King Moggle Mog XII" is a VARIANT of the original theme, much like the chocobo music doesn't sound exactly the same from game to game. The underlying theme is there, but the composition has been changed to sound more like Danny Elfman's style.
Even if you're going to argue that the very first moogle theme sounds like "This is Haloween", remember that the guy's been writing music for over 50 years - WELL before even the first Final Fantasy game, let alone the first appearance of a Moogle - and his music has a style that is easily recognizable. It's certainly possible that Nobuo Uematsu may have been inspired when he wrote the theme.
The odds of the Moogle theme being inspired by Disney are slim, and by "This is Haloween" in particular are zero (since the theme originated with the first moogle appearance, well before "A Nightmare Before Christmas" was created). The odds of the "Good King Moggle Mog XII" variation being inspired by Danny Elfman's style in general, however, are quite high.
