We should get a citation for the ceruleum = crystals thing so I can add it to my list of forum quick-quotes, lol. I know it's somehow aetherially based, but I never got very far with citations for proving it's liquid crystals. I just take it for granted that people saying so must be right since I've seen it mentioned as aetherial and see the claim so often.

Also, an aside that's more semantics than lore, but Allagan technology was magick teknologie. House Darnus (Garleans descended from the Allag) assisted in the resurrection of this technology, replacing the lost magicks with aether-based ceruleum mechanics. The portmanteau magitek applies literally to the former, so the Garleans might not be responsible for the name (and it might not apply strictly to the ceruleum creations); reinforced by the fact you can see the literal magick techology versions of Nero's ceruleum models in the Crystal Tower storyline (Death Claw, Iron Giant, Magitek Bit).
