Yeah, but this problem didn't start yesterday
Care to share where exactly?
Two posts later I did share some off the top of my head. You can subjectively say they have been ineffective as this thread points out, but you can not subjectively say they've done nothing at all or haven't tried. The notion that they are unaware of the problem comes from nothing but an angry mind. Not from a place factual of truth.
Either way the reality stands. Nothing will happen until 3.0 launches. They may be just as ineffective then as they are now, but it will absolutely wait until then. Mark my words.
If it happens when 3.0 launches, that will suffice. If it happens after 3.0 launches, it will be too late by then, as SE will already have lost a lot of the new customers who start on the expansion's release day. This is the sort of thing that could completely ruin the expansion's release. That's why it's so important to make sure SE understands the magnitude of the problem now. The features to control this need to be in the launch day code.
Even if they just release a complex new algorithm that takes the RMT crowd only a month or two to break, it will still be enough to at least save the expansion. It needs a permanent fix, and I dont think we are going to get one any time soon, but a temporary fix for the expansion, just long enough for the new players to get roped in, and all the reviewers to come in and not see it, will save the game.If it happens when 3.0 launches, that will suffice. if not, FFXIV is headed towards destruction. If they cant fix it, I see the game being defunct within 2 years.
