It would see more use for me if it could be freely targeted, but having to locate a target to use it on, shift to that target, use it, and then shift back to targeting the enemy is no bueno.

For the above, it is probably the way you do it, you aren't supposed to click a AM target after your cast. You hit the F1 button and select your AM target immediately during the cast, and at the end of the cast you AM over, and switch back to your enemy, which is usually the boss, by tabbing, if it is the sole target. If not you can click the boss on the map (which is usually big ass enough) or the adds via enmity list. That would require you to tweak your UI so that you have access to things really quick without losing time.

Alternatively you can configure your AM to a macros that utilize "mouseover" command so you don't have to click on an AM target.

You know, that's the thing about BRDs. Except the derp ones, those who knows their stuff always appear at the correct places at the correct time. BRDs don't require positionals too so you hardly find them out of place either. Like your T12 blackfire example, BRD have almost no business anywhere else (I myself parked at the blackfire stacking point straight) so your BLM AM'ing to you is almost a safe bet :P

I love AM on T12 really. So much fun using it. And pretty much playing T12 as a BLM.

AM to blackfire stack point after pull.
AM out melees at boss position after dropping bluefire.
AM into fountain of fire (and manawall the damn pinons like a boss )

Thanks for the Focus Target Macro info. Never thought of that use for it. Makes it easier than setting up a bunch of different macros when you can just preemtively have a focus target set.

I like it on T13. You can sit ready for Earth Shaker and then AM to a healer if you don't get it. I like it for that more than porting in for Mega Flare since it's too random on who will get picked.

T11 - Seed of the Sea
T12 - After initial pull, moving from fountain to fountain
T13 - Stacking after/before mega, giga and what not.
