Invisible shield suggestion?

This has probably been brought up like a million times, but I was just thinking how nice it would be to glamour shields to be invisible. I feel like some PLD swords look way better if there was no visible shield like the Moggle Mogblade. You know like an Emperor's New Shield kind of deal. Just a random thought I had.

I support this idea Lightning glamours will be complete then.

This has been talked about in one of the Live Letters.
In short Yoshida`s answer was "no". Please search for yourself which one was that because I do not remember.

I don't remember if it was actually in a Live Letter, but it was brought up on the forums last month.

From a World setting and story perspective, not having a visible shield would mean that you couldn't use shield bash or shield lob, and as such we have no plans to introduce an "Emperor's New Shield." However, we may be able to make a small shield so that it doesn't stand out too much, so we will look into that.

More recently when it was brought up again on the forums here a dev response re-affirmed the No answer, but they did say they might consider making a very small shield that may give close to that impression.

Ah that's right! I forgot we use the shield for something other than blocking! Well the small shield sounds nice too and I look forward to seeing how that looks!

Well, there's a relatively simple answer that would make a nice compromise.
Make a shield that's transparent. It's still there, but when there are no effects going on, it'd be difficult to see.

For some reason thinking about what that would look like made me laugh a bit. But yes that sounds like a great idea!
