I remember that ._. not only did the over packed camps make it hard to target, the thing would just say 'screw it' and disappear completely and refuse to load til they rebooted the servers again. One can only hope that Yoshi's team has that handled.though given the candor in that famitzu interview, I would not be wholly surprised if chocobo's were not pushed back to .19a Not that i want that to happen. its a distinct possibility though.
Either way it looks like the fun is about to be shipped in by the 18 wheeler full. cant wait.
you remember the old targeting system? the one that seemed to have a mind of its own?
Remember how densely packed camps use to be? and the crystals seeming to have the hit box of a lalafell? Yea standing infront of the crystal and trying to target the damned thing was fun for hours on end..
Things have improved since the crash test dummy days tough. I would be stupid not to admit that. Still i do hope that the menu interaction will stay along with the reimplementation of the direct targeting. On the same note i would hope that eventually dual interaction methods would spread out to most all objects we interact with. Chests, ???'s, those few stubborn doors that refuse to open automatically. Just talking about ease of use here.
I doubt they'll be rare, but can almost guarantee they'll be limited use. I say almost because I'm basing my judgement off of FFXI's chocobo system where the whistle to call them had an annoying cooldown timer. How long it was escapes me right now since it's been a while, but I'm sure someone here could elaborate on it.
FFXI's system really has no bearing on XIV, but it seems like something they'd do.
Ya I remember the whistle and actually commented on that useless thing a while back in another post, limiting us on using stuff like a chocobo mount is almost borderline insulting. It's too early to jump to conclusions but man, the little voice in my head is telling me not to get too excited. I can see this turning into anima v2.0
Another thing, why do they feel the need to limit the time on a rented chocobo? Is the guy that decides to sit on his choco for the rest of his game life harming anyone? It's more of a stupid annoyance than anything.
For the next six weeks I'll be hoping that this game brings us real mounted travel without cooldowns, fees, timers, and most of all headaches.
Don't get me wrong, I'm as happy as the next guy to at least get what we get, but ever since 2004 I've been hanging my head in my hands trying to figure out SEs backwards way of thinking.
I would be afraid they'd do this as well, but I was also thinking they'd make the cooldown time in between raid attempts something crazy like several hours. I don't think they'll make the same mistakes. At least I really hope they don't.Ya I remember the whistle and actually commented on that useless thing a while back in another post, limiting us on using stuff like a chocobo mount is almost borderline insulting. Yes I do have a My Little Pony sig because I'm not a complete loser who lives in his own little world, proclaiming something is stupid because I say so.

Maybe it means we can dismount, fight and hop back on for a defined period of time?! Boy, that would be awesome.

Once this patch is released (and if chocobos make it in), one of the first few things I wanna do is: rent a chocobo and ride it around outside one of the cities! ^^

It was five minutes, and it started from the time you used it. Were you really getting on your chocobo, and then within five minutes getting off and then wanting back on again?I doubt they'll be rare, but can almost guarantee they'll be limited use. The Jobs thing is worrying me lol, I really want some more info on it..
If jobs turn out to just be advanced Classes directly linked to a class then meh..
I'm hoping its a system where most classes can use various Jobs that suite them and make the party stronger with only some sensible limitations.
(Ok yes i'm saying this as an archer who agrees bard would make sense for the class, but i don't want to be made into just a buffbot nuker, I want options, its the main redeeming feature of the class system..)

They already talked about opening it up after more game refinements, ect. At the speed the devs are working at now I would imagine Ishguard only being a few months down the road.![]()
