Sometimes, people get nervous when they never cleared and are groups with people they never played with. They try to meet expectations and make mistakes.

When I join a clear party, I join with the mentality of it being a learning party. I guess the only thing I hate is when people see people with high level gear then talk crap about how sucky that person is. What you all don't understand is, that player may have simple gear but can't win. So they get more gear in hopes that it help them win as they contribute more.

We all know that skill > gear, but we try so many times and lose so many times that we take a break to gear up. Personally, I didn't get my T9 clear until it became farmable, but I been trying when there was a lockout.

Apparently, nowadays expecting people that join a "clear party" to perform at the level of a player that is ready to clear a fight is being a jerk.

Learning parties or for people who are either brand new to a fight or people who have learned a smaller portion of a fight than would qualify for practice/Progression.
Practice/Progression parties are for people who have gotten down a portion of a fight and are looking to learn the parts after that point.
Clear parties are for people who believe that they have the ability to clear the fight in 1 or 2 tries.
Farm parties are for people who believe that they can consistently clear a fight multiple times in a row.

It is extremely irritating for the other people in the party when you clearly don't know the fight and try to sneak in. Don't do it. Totally back you up, OP.

I saw this a lot yesterday while trying to get my friend his first T10 clear. There where 5 of us who had cleared T13, my friend who was on TS so was executing mechanics 90% correctly, and 2 pug dps, one of which needed clear as well. Np all cool we get it to 5% first pull, but we later discovered that was only due in part because the pug NIN got super lucky and had to deal with NO mechanics. So few wipes later and we start teaching the guy about what to do for tethers and purple marker and he gets all defensive "I know what I'm doing unlike [your friend] with his i100 weapon" *rolls eyes*

About an hour later the PUG is getting so frustraited he can't execute mechanics he just starts suiciding into the lightning fields everytime he gets marked. Those of us that know T10 know that only makes things worse... lol

This! every time I see it. You may as well just put "Come carry me!" in the comments. I'm so tempted every time I see it, I just know there is a lot of rage behind that commence duty button.

    Here's how things usually go:

Learning: Either it's an actual learning group where people have the patience to teach mechanics or someone "has to go" after one pull and the group disbands.
Clear: This one can either be an actual clear group with the intention of beating the thing before the timer runs out, it can be 7 people who've cleared the fight (or are ready to) carrying one dead body, or it can be a whole bunch of people who should really be in a Learning party instead.
Farm: Either a real farm group, a real farm group that disbands after 2 clears, or not a farm group at all (ie nobody knows how the last phase of t10 works, can't do tethers in 11, kill 2 birds with 1 stone in 12, etc. etc.)

PF is a mysterious place with mysterious people. It's always a roll of the dice what you'll actually get, no matter what the PF description says.

I see it the same way. The funny thing is that I've tried to make a clear party for my friend, he has practiced enough to be able to use the macros for lunar dynamo, fire out/in, etc. but yet we end up getting people that wipe us with the meteors even if we call it a clear party and ask to be exp till P4. Using DF or PF makes no difference. It's frustrating.

And now we can all be frustrated again in 3.0 lol.
The lines between learning, progression, clear and farm r so blurred now that Df and pf yield the same result. Only pro about pf is u can kick ppl and get replacements oh wait df can do that too. Lol

And it will never stop until people stop thinking that DF is the place to flop about like fish out of water and it's alright to violate other people's PF terms (isn't this technically just rule breaking and reportable as joining a pf farm party with loot rules and then rolling against that rule?).

Four hours sitting in PF with a Turn 7 learning party flag and having the party flux between 2-6 people at any given time for me. But I guess I should bother people by shouting every 30s-1m in Mor Dhona or I'm not trying hard enough. -shurgs-
