Petition for removal of Vote Abandon

I think the value of Vote Abandon is proportional to the number of players in an instance. From my personal experience, with four player instances I can almost never recall it being used successfully in a way that wasn't self-serving by a couple of people who had entered together never intending to complete it because they were trolling or just trying to cap a certain kind of tome partway through. On the other end of the extreme, when it's succeeded in 24 player content I've pretty much always been in agreement. If >= 12 out of 24 believe it's hopeless... it's probably hopeless. Sure there's the one off person who gets the loot they want, vote abandons after a wipe at the next boss and leaves when it fails... but that's why it's a vote after all.

This would create a more aggressive atmosphere than what already exists to be honest. I don't see it ending well if the right to vote abandon is removed. People will become cut throat.

OP-I agree vote abandon can be irritating, especially after 2-3 tries only in a 15 minute period. I wish duty finder lasted even close to the time limit amount in my world! LOL! In the end, the kicking of one player based on others voting is the real problem. Why do others choose who is kicked, vote abandon makes sense because it's an agreement of the whole party.

The only time I've seen vote abandon actually abused is in Crystal Tower instances just to spam and bother people. Any other time I've seen it it's been because some idiots were wiping the group repeatedly or (mostly with Steps of Faith) repeated attempts just weren't working and people wanted to leave. You might think of it as wasting all the time that led up to that point, but others see it as not wasting the additional 30 minutes that were still on the clock.

I did this a few times in LoTA runs that were rape runs. Junk and bosses died insanely fast, we get to last boss, vote abandon!!!!

Multiple times we've had to kick someone in party that afk'd or offline for too long.

After kicking, nobody could join our party in the dungeon already so the only way to get out was vote abandon.

When someone leaves, the party leader gets the option to replenish ranks. If the party leader hits no or cancels out the pop-up, they can go to duty finder and it's a button on the bottom.

Also, if your party/alliance isn't full, you can leave without any penalty, so there is no need for vote abandon.

In addition, no matter which party loses a member, all 3 party leaders in the alliance are capable of searching for more members.

Seriously, the time limit is not that long to begin with. It should be if you join DF you should plan to stay the whole time. There should be no vote abandon or kicking. The game should kick people afk and if you leave you get timed out. These fights are not that difficult and any party can win in the time limit.

... not really. I've been in multiple parties that have run out of time on things without clearing. Sometimes people are just that bad.
