You're completely missing the point here..
OP's talking about her change in attitudes in order to climb the ranks. Simply because too many people are unwilling to put in any effort or have proven themselves to be beyond improvement. Many are in fact, beyond help no matter what you try. So people become jaded like the OP. That's what we're talking about.

You're missing my point. I'm just saying what he's describing isn't elitist, if he really ment to say "You will find people more supportive of you if you take some initiative to help yourself.", he should have said that in his initial post. Not a wall of spam that tries to redefine what a word means.
