why thank you, hear that everyone we don't need the benchmark or a contest connected to the benchmark or that in game item or the ability to play with au ra or even see or touch the thing that was hyped up for nearly 2 months solid at every live letter /sarcasam

leaving the ps4 players out of using a character creator is annoying, the ps4 may not need a benchmark but to leave them out of something they have hyped up for a while now is a low blow, then to pour salt into that wound they tie in a contest (for NA players only) to the character creator which leaves out any one who is unable to use the benchmark, some PS4 players may only have a tablet to go online etc, and not a computer there SoL people who cannot have easy access to a computer such as a family computer are SoL maybe 'benchmark' is a daft name on the PS4 but a downloadable character creator would of allowed those people to not be exempt from a contest :\

as for it being NA only that annoys me some more but that was there choice and there are a few threads on that already

Technically, since console players don't have access to the forums natively, a large majority of the players without access to the benchmark will never even see the contest. and the portion of the players who have a device capable of accessing the forums, but do not have access to a device capable of running the benchmark, is decisively smaller.

Mac players also aren't being included here either. The forum contests have in general been pretty far based on PC capabilities (editing software for redubbed, imaging softwares).

I'm sorry you cannot access the contest. It sucks. However, like every other contest item, im sure it will be available in other ways at a later date.

if i am rude its mainly because think that was the thousandth time i have seen the same thing said over and over which is infuriating when none wishes to actually talk and the most i see is basically 'lol ps4 no benchmark' or just saying the same copy paste message

as for the console tablet or phone it is a 'small' market but it is bigger then one may think, i will use my university as an example we have over 7,000 students and i did a survey on over 6,000 of them (the ones i missed were due to not being in that day) i asked them if they had a PC tablet PS4 Xbone or none i saw over 2,400 students with a Ps4 but no PC, while roughly 3,000 had a PC, the remainder said they used there phones or tablets to access the internet it was done as part of my marketing research to understand and use a demographic, granted in a different scenario there may be a much bigger difference, but to shut off what is potentially a large part of your marketing demographic (this case Ps4 for the current demographic and mac being the smallest) seems as a dumb move,

also the PS4 can access the forums as well as Phones and tablets, i have tested it with my ps4 and i am posting this reply with my ps4

Slight edit: the ps4 and tablet can access the lodestone and see the contest as well as the contest being advertised on my EU ps4's client

I'm personally shocked that that many students don't have a PC. How do they do things like... I dunno, write essays? I know you can write things on a phone or tablet but it's not the easiest thing in the world to do, and I definitely wouldn't want to write a multi-page essay on one.

Have you been paying attention to the gaming market at all for the last 7-8 years? Game makers by and large ignore the PC market, they either make games exclusive to 1 console or a couple but don't bother with a PC version. When they do make a PC version, a lot of the time it's just a port of the console and ignores the fact PC users typically use a keyboard and a mouse, and that PC's give a plethora of graphical options that consoles never would offer. If you've ever played MW2 on a PC, you'd see how limiting it was., you could tell within the first 5 minutes of running the game that a PC version was an after thought. So the one time PC users get something that console users of the same game do not get on their console, but can still access with a little thought and or effort on their part and you whine like children?

MMOs are primarily a PC market, console players are the minority here, and those that play on a console without access to a laptop or a PC are even fewer. You can't please everyone, but apparently if you do not please the "consoles 4 lief" players, then everyone else gets to put up with lots of temper tantrums.

I'm going to stop you right there. you do realize a good portion of laptop and tablet users are using PC hardware right? a lot of people do not. so that question if you were vague is not the right one. yeah that's right you know that spiffy Surface Pro? guess what? it's a tablet that also happens to be a PC.

you ask a lot of people out there if they have a PC they will say "no I have a laptop" you gotta ask the right questions if you want accurate results.
simply ask.
does your tablet use windows? if yes ask which version. I suspect you will be surprised with the results
since you didn't ask if people had laptops they probably didn't think that was included in your question.

I literally have to explain to some people that a laptop is a PC with limited upgradability designed for convenience of portability
and that many tablets are infact also PC hardware

Holy entitlement batman! For a second there it sounded like SE made the game just for you! How difficult life must be to live with that massive ego of yours, must be hard to even leave your parent's basement.

not once did i mention about myself nor state that it was in my OWN interest i am able to use the benchmark with a old crappy computer that can bearly run it at 10 FPS this still dosnt mean it was a poor move not to be included with the markets left out. also the view is lovely from my 'basement' i think i can see the sea from my window :P

Most use pen or paper or they type it on either the university's macs or on there android tablets with software to write essays. some tablets they have are very good ones. (some even came with keyboard accsessories)

It was specified as 'windows PC' witch includes 'tablets that run Desktop OS's such as the surface pro (I.E a 'tablet' that runs windows 8)' to which there was only 7 students while the tablet option was specified as 'android or similar' which the majority of them had

Laptops were counted as PC since they are 'personal computers' mac was included but was a small number roughly 24 students had macs

so the questions were a lot more specific then what i typed up in that quote.

Or do you think that consoles are so primitive that they lack web browsers? I haven't checked recently to be certain that the forum works flawlessly on them, but PS4 and PS3 both have web browsers which allows users to access the forums.

At least last time I tried to access the forums via a ps3 browser, it would not let me sign in, due to lack of cookie support. The playstation browsers may provide limited functionality, but they by no means provide proper support.
