This should really be in the game, this is an amazing idea.
This would actually be 3x better than what we have currently and I would be totally OK with this. We get 5GP back per tick, and ticks are 3 seconds long.


I wonder if they'll add GP recovery targets. For example, while gathering, a Rare/Hidden item will randomly appear which will recover a set amount of GP if struck successfully. That would be useful I imagine.

Fishing needs more skills out of the 3 DoL, there are some pretty awesome ideas here. Now about the GP recovery, perhaps gathering a HQ restores 10GP or 20 considering how awful RNG is sometimes...
Also, since im here, i would like to point out to remove EXP from shards after level 20, certain... individuals.... benefit from this hugely.


DoL abilities I would like to see:
Miner / Botanist:
Ability: Wide Swing - Your swing uncovers one out-of-reach item and attempts to harvest from the node. - 300gp
Ability: Perfect Rhythm - Each successful gathering attempt increases the HQ chance for that item by 5%. Will not increase chances for items which start at 0%. - 200gp
Trait: Blessing of the Twelve - increases shard, crystal and cluster yield by 2
Trait: Ward of the Twelve III - Gathering wards double the current yield.
Trait: Enhanced Stealth IV - Increases the range of enemies avoidable when using stealth to level 60
Fisher:
Ability: Throw bait - Significantly increases chance of getting a bite. - 100gp
Trait: Once bitten, twice shy - Releasing a fish will greatly reduce your chances of catching that type of fish again for a short time. (HQ and NQ treated as separate fish)
Ability: Superior Mooch - Use the fish already hooked to your line to attract even larger prey. Works with NQ fish. - 400gp
More than a skill, I would like to be able to eat food while fishing, so I don't lose the buff in those locations that need long time preparation to catch a legendary ^_^

I definitely believe we need some GP skills for Fisher. Absolutely, positively, undoubtedly.

I think a tackle box would make a great off hand item
Here is my idea for GP use, and more fun Fishing:
New Ability: Tension I: Use after Hook, but before the Fish is pulled in.
--Sliding scale opens up (similar to the sliders on some of the punching games in the golden saucer). Pressing again in a success regions increase various aspects of fishing. Pressing hook again finishes with current results.
--GP drains over time AND for each attempt...so time delay, GP max, GP regen are important!
--Success regions shrink with each subsequent success.
There could be multiple success regions on one slider. Such as blue increases success rate, yellow increases chance of fishing up more than one fish, and green increases chance you'll catch a particular fish. Thus you can mix and match.
It gives us reason for GP/regen, and more engaging.
