A LoS AoE's would be nice, PLD has very few abilities that actually protect the party, Cover is pretty much the only one outside the tank LB and testudo in pvp. In ffxi they at least had rampart, which was kind of like the PLD limit break here, it reduced physical damage taken by party members by 10% and magical damage by 5%.

Another thing to note is that the attack being used looked magical, so here's hoping it's not limited to physical only.

As for the new attack, think it's part of a combo and they used it alone just to show it off? Or think this is another off GCD skill like spirits within and circle of scorn?

Also, although I like the idea of PLD protecting the party, I have to say, I'm a little concerned by how much they were playing up massive AoE's that needed protecting against at the end there. Had the DRG using some kind of defensive buff, had the PLD mighty guard, showed the PLD's new party cover. I have a bad feeling we are going to be seeing a lot more 'Nerve cloud' type moves in this expansion, probably in response to all the feedback that the tank LB is useless.
