more houses coming in 3.0?

Just to confirm what OPs saying... on excalibur there are several people who own multiple houses for growing operations. I have no problem with people having enough gil to pull this sorta thing off just a problem with others who are shite outta luck because of the shortage... If all the new zones are 50-100% bigger than i think housing land in these new zones should reflect that. And with more land you should be able to grow tons of crops (ya like a farm lol) which should be more valuable to those before mentioned multiple home owners because i could only imagine how tedious it would be to water/fertilize all those plants. So they would sell all the other places for a farm ^_^ Best advice i could give is have the gil ready because this is something they will eventually work out, whether it be new zones, wards or sub divisions... just make sure you are ready.

It has been said that if at all they will just expand the existing land but not add some. We upgraded our FC last weekend and it was the very last plot for a mansion so they really should expand more.

They must be adding more housing wards before 3.0. I'm sure there are a ton of new FCs looking to buy, but literally everything on Hyperion is taken.

Additional Housing plots are a necessity. Why they aren't being added is a grand mystery! I hope they're in come the expansion, because they keep adding stuff to housing when not everyone can get a house.

I would like to be able to expand a house without loosing everything since they force a lot of the furniture to be deleted if we try to pick it up.

Anyone knows if they are working on this?

If not, then can we package furnitures into an untradable/unsellable item that can be open and reuse in the new house?

Isn't the housing team busy with FC crafting and extending housing features (rumors about upping item limits for larges?!)?
It's dangerous to get your hopes up about housing around here.
If they haven't said they'll be adding new wards then I doubt they will.

A while ago when asked if a new residential area was going to be added to Ishgard, Yoshi stated that Ishgard would not be getting housing due to the Dragonsong War making that difficult. But then gave a subtle hint that the existing housing wards would be expanded by telling players to go back to the existing housing wards in 3.0 instead if you need a house. It wasn't a direct confirmation new wards are coming, but, it more seemed that was what they are planning but had not yet gotten to that stage. If I remember rightly it was in one of the Letters From the Producer Live videos, so I'll try looking for the quote in question.

EDIT: found it here in two places, one basically stating that they will "continue to add more land", and the second directly responding to why Ishgard won't be getting a housing area:

Q: Large size houses feel empty. Can you increase the cap on the amount of furnishings we can place?
A: We’ve been using all our energy to increase the amount of land, so we haven’t been able to touch this aspect of housing. However, with the new wards that were added, I feel that we’ve just about fulfilled the demands.

We’ll continue to add more land, but we’d like to improve the utility of each house.

However, the team that is in charge of housing, known as the Live Team, is also in charge of Free Company elements and the Gold Saucer, and they’re currently devoting all their energy to Free Company crafting and the Gold Saucer. We expect that they will be able to address this afterwards, but they will need a bit of time.

I’ve been talking about whether we can add this sometime after the expansion, but we wouldn’t be doing this at the same time as the expansion and as I can’t make any promises in regards to the timeframe, for those of you who are wondering if there will be new housing areas in the expansion, I urge you to look into housing in the current three city-states.

So, that's pretty compelling evidence that new housing is coming in 3.0 to the existing residential areas - we just have to be patient.

one could deduce that they will add three new housing areas based off the 9 new areas (like lavender beds (shroud) goblet (thanalan) mist (la noscea)

My only wish is that, like the new areas, these wards offer plots 50-100% bigger (like a farm) where one could grow a crap ton more than just 8 things because a lot of the housing in excalibur was snatched up by those who use them for gardening only.

So start saving now... floating island housing sounds like the one for me!!!

Because personal housing and FC housing are essentially the same, there are zero small house plots on Leviathan for my rather small FC. It shouldn't be this hard to find a place that isn't 15-50 million gil! I mean, I don't think I'm asking for much when I want to get my FC members a small house so they can dye their chocobos and such, perhaps even doing some of the FC crafting/airship stuff later. I hope it's sooner rather than later~
