Yep, just add "Linkshells" to point 2 and everything would be peachy. That's what players have been asking for for months, but SE doesn't act.

My thoughts are that the gil sellers pay subs, get banned, buy new accounts or something. There seems to be no reason to let us get pooped on every time we log in. Those changes would be fairly easy compared to some of the other changes they make. You can't make me believe it would require major coding changes, there is already a system for filters in place.

The silence is more damning to me than the the lack of action, come here type a few sentences responding to your customers. We should consider not logging in until we get at least a response, plenty of F2P and trials out there to occupy us for a few weeks/months at least. Who knows some us might find something we like better.

I'm not going to assume anything when it comes to the tangled mess that may be their source code. If this was a ground-up rewrite and they used none of the 1.0 code set, then I'm with you. If they built on and rebuilt from 1.0, then all bets are off.

The biggest hurdle right now, I think, is the lack of understanding how bad the problem is from the dev team. Hopefully that's changed and something like what you suggested can be put in place.

I work hard for my money just like everyone else, i pay for my wife and I to play, just purchased the expansion, I feel to we deserve(all of us) just a few minutes out of someone's day to say what they intend to do and why they have done so little. At some point I will vote with my wallet, the sad thing is, once I do that, I'm done. I don't back, please choose instead to talk to us.

what really annoys me are these friend requests. why do i have to delete every bot by hand from my friendlist? why is he added to my friendlist before i was saying "yes"?

This drives me crazy. It shouldn't be more difficult to not accept a friend request. If I select "No" then the individual should no longer be on my list or waiting for me to approve. Somehow "No" means "Wait" here. If they're so worried about people hitting the wrong button too quickly because they're doing something else, why not do what they did to DF and give us the options "Yes" "Wait," and "No." It's really frustrating to stop what I'm doing, pull up the friend's list, reject the friend request, then blacklist them so I don't get it again.

This is not a solution. It would be disastrous for new players. Everyone will be using it.
Let's say a new player wants to ask something a veteran, but can't. It will make the new blood not having a door to be social in the game, thus the game will start dying.

"Target Name -> Report Account + Blacklist All Characters from that Account" is a great solution. Everyone profits except RMT, and no one suffers.

For everyone who says "there is no solution" you are just dumb. Other MMOs (including WoW) have managed to minimize the spam. WoW went through a really rough point a while back with RMT, but eventually get the upper hand on the situation. If they can do it, there is no reason SE can't copy the methods and reduce the spam.

It would not be disasterous to new players, they will survive just fine. There are plenty of other avenues to ask questions than direct tells. I don't respond to them now, you send me a message and I don't know, I am already not responding.

Solutions that doesn't drive away new players and old players > solution that drives away new players > no solution.
