WHM does not have battle rez at this level so swiftcast esuna isn't a bad option.
OP, you can also fluid aura adds away from you and push them towards the tank to pick up. When you get repose you can push them away and sleep them.

After trying this on SCH after being used to how I play it on WHM/CNJ I found that it's best to just heal through the poison as the boss/adds will just re-apply poison the second you remove it. I've only ever wiped on the second boss once with SCH and never (AFAIK) on CNJ/WHM.So I have 2 level 50s, Bard as primary and BLM that I got to 50 but hated it and haven't touched it yet. ...
So I don't know if it was just a crap party or not but after 3 times they told me to leave or get voted out, but I honestly have no idea how else to do it. They would literally wipe less than a minute into the battle, their health would just plummet and tons of things like slow, poison etc. It's scared me away from healing since it's such a low level dungeon. I dunno if it was more my fault or just them, as their gear seemed low but makes me not want to attempt it again and screw up another party.
So I'm going to say it's likely your play style.
1) Never stand somewhere where you would get hit with the debuffs. If this was happening, the tank wasn't holding enmity. The best location in most dungeons is perpendicular to where the boss/tank is facing, never behind the tank, and never directly it front of the tank (that's for the DPS.)
2) Get used to seeing Melee's die. Focus on the tank, only the tank. If the other players are getting the same debuff, just let it drop off
3) Don't use Esuna to remove debuffs that the boss will just recast. For most of Toto-rak, you'll get hit by poisons that last not very long and just curing through it works better than trying to remove the debuff immediately.
From what you describe, if the Tank was losing HP that fast, they might not have been using their skills properly, or they were wearing DPS gear, but I've never actually played it on a tank so I can't say for certain what they should be doing. Nothing the DPS could do would have improved the situation except standing farther back, which obviously melees can't do much of.
As a FYI, my play style includes "move every two casts", as that's to keep any targeted AOE's from hitting the tank or DPS.
Wrong. The 1st and 2nd boss are throwing out a new poison cloud instantly the moment the actual tanking player has no poison stack. You have to keep up poinson on the tank. Only dispell everybody else.

don't cure the Tanks poison, just heal them the standard way and heal it out, it will eventually wear off. a melee DPS who doesn't carry around 25 antidotes per run in this dungeon by the time they qualify deserves to learn thier lesson. in fact, each of the main status potions, you want lots of, because from levels 20 and up, and especially in hauke manor, Paralysis will be extremely common, and the healer won't be able to cure it swiftly enough.
generally, a good rule of thumb is to never carry less than 25 each of the important status healing potions for your level. try to stock up 50 of each. because those things are life savers.
truth is, being able to heal your own status with a 2 minute cooldown using an item purchased with the help of a microscopic amount of your gil in any capitol is better than expecting the healer to cure it for you
All negative effects arrow down and the buffs have a arrow up. Like a house with a roof sort of. When time progresses you'll know what effects are esuna-able and which are not. I know how annoying a thousand maws can be with the stackable poisons. But make sure you prioritize the slow debuff on yourself. One thing that can help for you is going to the HUD options and then make your status bar bigger and more visible for yourself. Hope that helps and good luck!
swiftcast esuna is the worst advice I ever heard

I bet the tank in your run had the heavy armor sets that combine the head and chest pieces as well as the leg and feet pieces. Seen that so many times with a tank doing that run for the first time.

Thanks everyone! So have some good news, I've since done this dungeon like 5 times and no problems! By the time the boss is at 5% HP though it gets a bit dicey, where usually it dies as I'm trying to rush in a Medica lol. I always forget the range of it and sometimes get one in but it misses someone. I've done Ifrit normal mode a few times as well (I can't believe how EASY this fight is haha when I was a DPS doing it first time omg). I think it helps too that I'm more pro with using the dualshock where as before it was so hard to target anything learning the game, I could have never done healer. What's funny to me is when its myself taking damage, I almost freeze for a second in a omg what do I do moment instead of just curing myself like a normal person.
I put the party bar down lower right so I can always see it near the cross hotbar, so it's not huge but I think its small enough I didn't even notice arrows on the buffs. I can try to maybe make it one notch larger just to see. The ones on myself are much larger. So far I'm really enjoying this though, I like playing a role where I'm more important or whatever.
It's better once you get over the fear of letting someone die lol.

Glad to hear things are going better. Welcome to healing, have fun, and... there will be rough days ahead but try not to let them get you down too much. Thanks everyone!
