Question about healing Thousand Maws, because I sucked at it

When you say remove slow first, am I able to pick if someone has poison and slow? Or does it just remove the earliest one? That was mainly the problem as well, they would have 2 or 3 things showing beside their name, sometimes it looked like even 2 poisions, and when I'd do esuna it would remove 1 of the like 3 detrimental items from them, so seemed like it was endless. Going to try again tonight though and see, hopefully was just the party lol.

You can't pick and choose per se, but if I remember correctly, Esuna will remove Slow over Poison. You can cycle through everyone with Esuna to remove Slow first (starting with yourself, of course) since it's the most detrimental, and then worry about dealing with the poisons.

Great thanks, was just so stressful seeing everyones HP going down and knowing if the party wipes again it's 100% my fault lol. To make matters worse they were obv a pre-formed party too since they were chatting the instant it started.

Don't bother using esuna as the boss/ adds will just re apply it shortly after thus making u waste mp. Best way is to just heal thru it using medica and cure 1.
U should have plenty of mana still by the time boss is past the 50% hp mark.
Cuz wasting ur time using esuna could have been used to heal.

#1 priority is making sure you don't have slow. #2 is making sure tank lives. If everyone has poison and is taking damage, you have medica. If you have a little breathing room, you can do esuna.

Partly true.
The first two bosses of Thousand Maws will re-apply the poison AoE if the main tank gets cleared of Poison. You're free to remove the Poison from everyone else and the Slow from anyone, but the Main Tank's poison WILL end up staying, no matter how you slice it.

Oh great that helps, that's probably my issue since I'd just keep doing it on him and it would come back instantly so was like what the!? I just did Halatali and we cleared it fine no one died at all. Very last 3 seconds were dicey, whole party got hit and was down to like 20% but then we killed it luckily. I got better gear as well, plus I think it probably doesn't help either having my HP be at the lower end of Thousand Maws. Probably makes more sense to run Halatali once or twice more to get my level to the mid-high end of the level cap for Thousand Maws for some extra advantage.

Put swiftcast on your hotbar and use it to esuna yourself. .

Indeed. I don't use Swiftcast with Esuna. I normally reserve it for an instant Resurrect / Raise or an instant cast Succor / Medica. Depending whether I'm playing Scholar or Whitemage.

Yeah I was finding it handy for those times when a boss would do some big attack where the whole party goes to like 50% or less, so swiftcast Medica and then normal cast Medica.
